  • If your epilator is waterproof, use it in either the shower or bath, so long as your skin is hot and wet. It softens the skin some and helps loosen your pores so it hurts marginally less and gives a better result. You can also do it immediately after you shower as well if it’s not waterproof. I would also recommend looking up dry brushing as a form of exfoliation. No one time use consumables that way. Sugaring or epilating results in a decent number of ingrowns if I don’t exfoliate for the next few days afterwards.

When it comes to waxing, I suggest you try sugaring as well, it exfoliates the skin as well as removing the hair and you can make it at home with only a few basic ingredients. It just takes to practice to get the technique down to use unlike hard or soft wax, which are both mostly just slap it on with the grain, peel it off against the grain.

  • I will say, try some cheap yarn rather than one from their recommended list if you want to try knit or crochet breast forms for the first pair. If you end up not liking them, you’ve spent less on yarn, and cheap yarn is generally bigger than what they recommend, so it will take less rows and less time. I only crochet, so I’m not sure if you can do this with the knitted ones because they have a nipple, and you probably don’t want to look like your’re storing a peanut m&m in there 😆

  • I haven’t used the chicken cutlett style inserts, but silicone breast forms are great for occasional use, especially with medical adhesive. The other option I’ve been using are knitted knockers, which if you know how to knit or crochet, you can make for the cost of materials. They’re good for day to day use because they let your skin breathe. With strategic placement, they can give a bit of a push up effect too, but that only started working for me once I had enough boob to push up on.

  • I was shocked to find out my 5’4" wife and my 6’4" ass are often in the same size range for women’s clothes. As soon as we did find that out, she started throwing stuff she didn’t want anymore at me to try and see if I wanted it. It also helped me narrow down what i was comfortable with wearing. Going out in it was a whole different molehill, but I settled on leggings and a v neck or tank as my go to real quick. Your wife’s unwanted clothes might be a place to start if you happen to wear a similar size and she has any and she’s comfortable with it.

  • As I’m sure is the case for a lot of trans folks, I know the feeling roiling in your head all too well. You don’t know what your future is going to look like, but you know it’s not going to be the sameas how you’ve been living. Something has fundamentally shifted in your understanding of yourself, and it’s exciting and terrifying. In case nobody has mentioned it to you yet, the Gender dysphoria bible is something you’ll probably want to read even if you decide transitioning isn’t for you. It’s got a LOT of useful information and helped me make an informed decision and have an idea of what I wanted for me. Wishing you the best in the future, whatever it holds for you!
