I would buy from GOG too, if they provided Linux support in form of an official launcher. And if available also official Linux builds. Back in the days GOG did that, but they stopped doing it. And before someone comes after me, I know there are alternative launchers on Linux. But I don’t want to give GOG money for work others doing it for free. I don’t want support a company who only cares about Windows.

And I know about the history and use Rust myself too. But these are complete different statements. I mean its like if suddenly Xbox says our industry leading console. I get that type of vibe. I actually think a new field of “real” programmers will emerge, in which they are specialized at looking for Ai problems. So companies using Ai and get rid of programmers, will start hiring programmers to get rid of Ai problems.

Lemmy is a far better platform for discussions than Discourse in my opinion. The tree like sub-reply threads in each post (the Reddit concept) is preferable over a single thread of replies. You don’t need to cross quote and for readers no need to read the quote to see who and to what the reply is about. I don’t like Discourse discussion platforms at all.

However, Discourse has a few features that fits well for a discussion platform. I like the tags and Trust system of it.

Did you mean 1MB? With correct settings, you get under 1MB Rust binaries and with even more compression using upx it gets to 300KB, probably less for much simpler applications. Rust applications aren’t that big of a deal as people make it to be; within reasons off course.
