The post was referring to US citizens in general, you said they admired and lionized Musk but it’s only a small minority of white supremacist fascists that are making these decisions, and they don’t even like Musk really but just use him for his money. Most average citizens don’t pay attention to what is happening and when they do they generally oppose the nazis. Even my conservative Christian grandma has been calling Trump and his supporters nazis since 2016.
Random innocent ship crews aren’t being targeted, ships that provide oil to Israel and US forces are, they directly support the terrorism done by these regimes. It’s like saying “what you are doing supports the inhuman war against my people, the fuel you sell to the genociding army provides the power for their planes to bomb our schools and massacre our children. We will stop ships from supporting this war effort, you can willingly leave your ship or we will disable it.”
But the government has said we can’t follow the paths we want, they are a government of the rich that has robbed and murdered the working class and prevented them from doing what is good for them at the risk of death or imprisonment. Within capitalism there is no freedom unless you are the rich, who the proletarian must beg for wages from to live.
If the workers have a better standard of life it is only at the will of the rich, concessions gained from them have only come from different forms of class warfare.
Change would seem to entail violence no matter how it was went about. We can’t strike without losing our jobs, therefore our homes and healthcare, people don’t have the financial means to strike indefinitely so they would have to occupy buildings and break other laws to keep it going, the police would be directed to break up occupations and assemblies with force resulting in death and injuries.
We have had mass protests and public occupations from time to time for decades now that have been met with police repression, murders and abductions from the government and reactionaries, and they resulted in little progress as far as reduction of the fascist violence from our government and military. The history of this resistance might have brought the public’s awareness and discontent to a point where a more radical change in the system could be possible though.
