2 months agoThey also sell laptops and desktops, mostly workstation-class, with Linux preinstalled. I’ve always had great results with fwupd on Lenovo laptops, great to see them sponsoring something useful.

0·2 months agoDigital “ownership” is temporary. Piracy is as permanent as the end-user wants it to be. I prefer the latter.
…and a lot of them hate the end-user, too. Why must we involve people in the whole computer thing? Isn’t an abacus and a box of crayons enough?
Not only that, but also on not upgrading/replacing computers that don’t meet the requirements. Windows 11 runs perfectly fine on higher-end mobile Kaby Lake, but without unsupported workarounds one cannot install it…never mind that you can virtualize Windows 11 on Skylake and older without any issues.
