I mean this happens with salary positions all the time. Just this year our manager put out new schedule rotations that make us work an hour longer every day…not like we’re getting paid extra for that.

I agree completely, but this congress and administration have shown time and time again that they refuse to learn from history (e.g. The Vietnam War) so it wouldn’t surprise me if the idea at least gets thrown to vote in Congress, which hopefully is enough to ignite more serious protests/riots in the country to dissuade this current trend. This is why people are floating the possibility of one now, to sow the idea to US masses and get a gauge of their reaction.
