“but north korea is homophobic” “but china has misogyny” “but the ussr had racism” maybe, but they dont have a multi billion dollar system to control the population’s opinion to hateful rhetoric. china will never have a jeffrey eipstein billionaire who will ever have the ability to meet up with some people and set a ginormous psyop for alt-right views.

those states have never had bigotry as clear goals, they were only blindspots. meanwhile, capitalist countries have always had bigotry as goals. they have it out for muslims, black people, refugees, asian people etc. it was a capitalist state that gave us the definition of “genocide”. israel is dead set on ending the palestinian people and has that as a clear goal.

that whole “they killed people because they thought it was WESTERN DECADENCE” bullshit ended when those socialist states were not actively being genocided by the west and they saw that even without western intervention, diverse sexual identities are just a part of human nature. a lot of these countries had diverse views of sexuality and gender before periods of western imperialism that imposed strict moral puritanism.

also, they always think of LGBT people in the abstract and not as human beings who have material needs. when kim jong un builds free houses you think “but he will execute gays”, how many gay people were/are saved from homelessness and starvation by socialist countries’ policies? how many gay people got to be engineers, scientists? how many gay people were saved from nazi germany because the USSR put an end to them building death camps all over europe?

when you hear capitalist states mention their LGBT rights do you not think of the material needs of those people? the united states might have gay marriage on paper but they dont have free, secure housing and thousands of gay people (as well as other minorities) perish to those conditions.
