This decision is final. Their place in history is settled.

I find those last 2 sentences amusing and puzzling. It is like he thinks he is the decider of what society at large is going to care about at any given moment. That level of ego must hurt your neck to carry around everyday.

Meanwhile the portrait of U.S. military’s first Black four-star general, Daniel “Chappie” James Jr., was taken down from the Air Force Art Gallery at the Pentagon. You know someone who actually deserves recognition. I guess his place in history was not settled.

I think that’s a false equivalent. Yes, the Kaiser was authoritarian, but it was just another colonising parliamentary monarchy (like th UK). It had fewer colonies than the UK (good guys TM) and was less terrible to its own population than Russia (good guys TM).

It tries to reinvigorate that hurra war spirit, which is ok. But the poster is a bit more anti-german than it is anti-fascist.

the thing about propaganda is that it’s not meant to be accurate, factual, or even logical. it’s to modify people’s behavior based on their emotional response. you can see the effectiveness in literally everything the GOP says, writes, publishes, etc. their base eats it up like hogs at the trough while everyone else sits around still trying to convince them that last month’s lies were a “false equivalent”

or that they should care that it is

I wish American liberals weren’t such pansies. They are half the country if not more, it really wouldn’t be that difficult to shut down the country in a big enough uprising.

I think people are counting on midterms going their way. If it helps the left has been more effective at violence so far when it does happen.

And me personally would end up homeless if I miss more then one paycheck.

    From Wikipedia

A number of the citations on the medals awarded to the troopers at Wounded Knee state that they went in pursuit of Lakota who were trying to escape or hide. Another citation was for “conspicuous bravery in rounding up and bringing to the skirmish line a stampeded pack mule.” Another medal was awarded in part for extending an enlistment. One citation was just “bravery”.

It is very clear what message Hegsheth wants to send here, and it is not that catching a pack mule is “conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty.” The massacre at wounded knee is one of the darkest chapters of our history.

It’s actually well documented that part of the appeal of religion is the psychological need for justice when it’s so clearly absent in the real world. It’s probably part of the reason Christianity spun off from Judaism when it became clear that the Jews weren’t going to get any sort of justice or revenge for their oppression by the Roman Empire. Christianity has a greater emphasis on the afterlife and otherworldly justice than Judaism does. Prior to that, the Hebrews were doing fairly well with their own kingdoms and a focus on prosperity in life rather than waiting for the afterlife was working out pretty well.

Sorry for the tangent, I just think it’s really interesting.

What makes you think that a god who made Hegseth a multi-millionaire and gave him control of the most powerful military on the planet would suddenly hold him accountable when he dies?

Motherfucker would have been smote or turned into a pillar of salt by now if there was a just deity from any religion.

Hegseth has likely lied every single day of his adult life, plus when he was learning how to lie as a kid/ teenager.

Hegseth’s only regret will be that he didn’t hurt enough of the ‘right’ people.

To someone like Hegseth, he’s not an alcoholic — that’s woke liberal trashspeak and not a real condition.

Idk if that’s actually what he believes, but I bet I’m not far off from his actual answer.

No wonder the U.S., together with the butchers from Israel, is deliberately bombing schools.

What a despicable rogue state, led by the most deranged monsters humanity has to offer—so monstrous that not a trace of humanity remains.

There was never any to begin with. If you haven’t yet, you should read Kegsbreath’s mother’s letter to him. She paints him as the worst person. If his own mother can’t find good in him, there never was any.

My personal opinion is that no war medal is a good thing so this is nothing more than an opportunity for this man to reinforce his imperialism.

What other ways are people interpreting this?

What other ways are people interpreting this?

If you mean just war medals in general it depends on the context. If you get a medal say as a Union soldier during the Civil War for successfully repeling a Confederate assault that’s inherently a good thing to have done, but war is messy so yes it involves killing unfortunately.

Getting injured as an allied soldier on D-Day is a good reason to get a medal.

Getting a medal while fighting to defend Ukraine from it’s invasion is also good.

When people are fighting for a just cause its okay to be rewarded for their service.

Being decorated by any of the opposing nations in these conflicts would ultimately by bad. Even if the actions by the soldier was the same.

But worst of all being given a medal for a massacre of women and children is just indefensible

Admittedly, if you want to come at it from an absolutely pacifist worldview about giving people medals for killing, I can’t disagree or refute that stance.

Psychopaths going mask off for time infinity through history. We always fight the same war against the psychopaths whenever we let them back stab their way up the power chain every 60 years or so. It’s always us vs psychopaths and they always go mask off when they think there’s no way they can lose. We are here.

The first one doesn’t make any sense.

US industrialists like Ford helped fund the Nazi and Nazism was extremely popular in the US.

Hitler himself modeled the Holocaust after how the US genocided the Native Americans.

For the first one, read the post. It’s saying the Americans are emulating the Nazis.

The second one is because the Nazis were emulating the Americans (as you stated).

I get that, it is just not correct as the Nazi were emulating the US from the start.

Not only did the US provide massive support, it also did a lot of political work. You see before the final solution Hitler just wanted the Jews out.

He sent delegates to talk with other nations about taking them in. When the wealthy Nazi lovers of the US found out about this they assisted in helping revive anti-jewish sentiment around the world. They went around lobbying every nation including the US to not take the Jews in and it worked.

This is what brought about the final solution, but before that the Nazi had a problem with tracking Jews. Que IBM who used their computing power at the time to generate a census system. Those numbers tattooed on Jewish prisoners arms came from IBM.

If that was not enough the Nazi also had a problem with the logistics during the final solution. IBM once again came to the rescue figuring out how many trains of Jews could be executed without backing up their newly designed death camps.

So the US played an intricate role in making the Holocaust feasible. One of the many genocides the US has been a part of.

Upon managing to access the presidential bunker, the “march on D.C.” group were unsurprised to find that the first lady and chief of war had taken their own lives, what they were surprised to discover was the commander and chief had chosen not to, but instead empty his entire clip into the already deceased secretary of war at close range.
