      Y’all always love eugenics jokes. And like always, before you get pissed about me telling you that this is a eugenics joke, yes, equating evolution with intelligence is reliant on eugenicist notions of natural human ability and evolution as a process that picks out the “bad” or “weak” elements of a species.

      Darwinism is a concept that only refers to how traits are passed on through physical reproduction, not what normative values those traits have in terms of “good” or “bad.” What you’re referring to is more akin to social-Darwinism, which was a pseudoscientific concept that emerged in the late-nineteenth century as a catch-all rationalization of social inequities along the lines of arbitrary social values like industriousness, naturalized class, racism, ableism, etc.

      Unsurprisingly, it was popular among Nazis. I hope you understand the irony in applying it here to make fun of a person who subscribes to an anti-science concept promoted by fascists.

But it is something we can all appreciate, and before you say it, NO I do not think we should be making the world safer for idiots.     Mebendazole and ivermectin combined to 275mg? The typical ivermectin dose alone is .2mg/kg, so a 180lb/81.5kg person would only take 16-ish mg. So this person took way more ivermectin than needed for a parasitic infection (and stupid for taking it without one). Mebebdazole is 100mg/x2 a day, so this is more than double the dose for a single recommended pill.

    Just in case anyone wants to know how much not to take.

        It’s also a human dewormer, or many other kinds of parasite. At proper dosage it’s generally a very safe drug. Two things.

        1. Ivermectin is a drug that costs cents to make 100s of pills. If you’re paying $500 for a bottle… They saw you coming.
        2. Don’t buy medications from scammers. See point 1.

          AFAIK there was a correlation in some countries between COVID outcome and deworming meds. In those countries people actually had worms, which weakened the immune system, so taking deworming meds in the end helped with COVID by removing the worms. Obviously it doesn’t do shit if you don’t have worms.

          It’s purposefully worded that way to be misleading, even to native speakers. Explicitly calling something medicine or a cure means it would have to be tested and regulated. However, labeling something as being for wellness isn’t covered by that, and is just vague enough to have people think positively about it. That’s not saying that there aren’t beneficial things labeled under wellness; roughly speaking though, it’s can be used to sell whatever you want, while making people assume it’s actively good for them.

          It’s a private company in the “health and wellness” industry. Basically modern day snake oil salesmen that convince vulnerable (or stupid) people that “big pharma” is evil and giving you cancer or whatever, while the mystery pill they’re peddling will cure anything that ails you. It typically comes with a hefty price tag, lots of sales pressure, and zero evidence to back it up.

      That’s totally fine. I have a book by a native American grandmother explaining the use for local plants and they work. This, however, does nothing unless you have a parasite. Taking it for anything else is dangerous and ineffective.

        Ivermectin is in fact used in human medicine, but the (properly dosed) tablets come from real pharmaceutical providers, not some random wellness company. Most importantly they are used with a specific indication, not as some sort of wonder pill like the maga dipshits use it.
