Clearly he should be inviting then to murder his wife in exchange for him murdering their husbands. That’s what strangers on a train do, right?

yeah, I’m also highly confused about the point of the picture.

it could be a joke if the women would show some actual interest in the guy and he ignored them, but here it’s just ppl minding their own business.

I get the feeling someone’s done their room up to look like a train carriage, and maybe has a very specific fantasy life.

Firefox loads PDF.js using a resource URL (resource://) and those are sourced from a JAR file (omni.ja) so you would have to find that file in your local installation and patch the archive with your customized version.

men pay attention to women they get roasted; men ignore women and they get roasted.

it’s almost like there’s a battle of the sexes going on that’s tipped one way because nobody dares speak out on the men’s side because they’ll get labeled an incel or ‘part of the problem.’

neither of those women are worth paying attention to.

A bit unrelated to the joke, but I am sad at how acceptable it has become taking pictures of people in public to make fun of them.

The joke is that he wouldn’t be talking to them even if he weren’t doing whatever he’s doing. So yes, the caption is dumb, on purpose, in order to be humorous. I hope the joke is better now I’ve explained it.

“I hope we can get into the club.”

“Yeah, it’s going to be packed already, and we’re still 20 minutes away.”

“Since it’s this late already, see if Chris’s after-party’s started yet.”

“Good idea… … The stream is up. Only a few people milling around so far.”

      “Soon to be three more.”

“Yeah, skipping club, on to the after party.”

He’s not joining the conversation because they’re strangers who just happen to be riding the same public transit as him.

Indeed, and he could join in the conversation and have a very nice conversation and make friends. But he is not doing that because he is working. It is not likely that he would join the conversation if he wasn’t working, as such the joke does not make much sense, but it is definitely something he could do, which could indeed be a nice conversation for the three of them, or it could be terrible for some of them.

I don’t see why you put it down so black and white. Is it prohibited to start a conversation with strangers on public transport? How do you meet people? I often talk to strangers, it’s generally pretty nice.

Granted, the last few years I didn’t take public transport very often: I mostly walk, but when I do I generally start a chat with someone.

You are correct. I have met plenty nice people in the US though, I had pretty good chats.

But I reckon buses were pretty strange: often people would start screaming stuff while not talking to anyone and keep going for the whole ride.

At least being young in USA, made friends on public transit!

As with all interactions like that (captive audience essentially), utmost care is required, but want to dissuade notion it’s not possible or not permissible, even in a country with illness & weapons.

If you can very easily explain a ‘joke’ with an incredibly common, mundane explanation…

You probably do not have a very good joke.

            No.

I have thoughts, and want to talk about them.

That’s the point of a discussion platform.

Who are you to tell me I just shouldn’t say anything?

Pretending things that either aren’t jokes, or are really dumb jokes… are actually good jokes… is how you get more dumb jokes, and people laughing at things that are not jokes.
