You can preemptively add “AI Datacenters in space”, because that idea only shows that he has a very limited knowledge basis regarding physics in general and the limited ways of getting rid of hear when there’s no medium to absorb it. He probably still thinks “Space is cold”.

In the 2004 documentary*, The Punisher, we learn that you can be burned by something so hot that you won’t feel it, you’ll only smell the fat burning, and then you’ll feel cold instead of hot. We know that this is accurate because John Travolta’s average disgruntled employee screams when touched with a popsicle since burning heat is actually cold*.

This is how we know that datacenters in space will easily cool off, because, as further evidenced by water nearly immediately crystallizing, the heat of space is actually popsicles*.

      ~* /s not included. some assembly required.~

I know this was from the autonomous Tesla predictions list, but this quote from August 2022 doesn’t age well either:

The two technologies I am focused on, trying to ideally get done before the end of the year, are getting our Starship into orbit

    Full self driving in 2016, 2018, +++++

He said “we are making them now” when he announced his semi truck in 2017

And most recently he has said by the end of this year grok will be able to make a full story accurate movie, and specifically referenced The odessey

I want to see that nightmare fuel shit of a movie somewhat, and see how much it costs to generate 3 hours of movie in terms of energy and hardware depreciation. it would really demonstrate how far we are away from AI that is more than a plaything outside of a few special cases.

I’ll watch it out of curiosity, but I intend to pirate it. No way I’m paying one cent that will end up in his pocket.

BTW, I doubt I’ll watch the whole thing, it will probably be unwatchable anyway. To a dope like Musk, the goal is to make a fully AI movie, and he’ll succeed in that, without ever thinking about the part that it needs to be entertaining, or at least educational. It will be a full movie all right, but it will be terrible, and he’ll be all pissed off that people don’t love it.

Then he and Trump are going to get all pissy when it doesn’t get any Oscar nominations. I can’t wait for that circus.

This weirdo is so out of touch with the world that he actually thinks this sounds like a good idea to him. Not one normal person in the world is looking forward to fully AI Slop Entertainment, and yet he’s announcing it like it’s an exciting historical moment.

AI Slop Entertainment will be aimed at, and embraced by MAGAs, and despised by everyone else. Beware, they’ll also do a lot of Children’s AI Slop, knowing parents will park their babies in front of the tube, unaware that they are turning them into future MAGA psychopaths.

      Hyperloop was never physically possible

      Dumb gullible politicians believed him

Afaik it was some trick to prevent a high speed rail way to be constructed, or something like that

Pretty much, yes. It was a stunt to siphon away money and political will from a high speed interurban rail.

Like John D Rockefeller convincing cities to kill their electric trolly system in favor of gas guzzling busses, which spent the next century belching leaded exhaust fumes into the air, essentially lead poisoning the entire American atmosphere and brain power.

This is why I make the characterization that Musk is not an engineer or product guy. Only a really good snake oil salesman and finance guy. He’s in the position he’s in because of false promises and financial moves.

He might have pulled it off, but he forgot that a lot of his success balanced on people actually BUYING his products, so keeping your personal and company reputation squeaky clean is of the utmost importance.

Instead of maintaining his personal and professional integrity and credibility, he decided to inflate his ego, and throw in with the worst people in the world, and follow a supervillain arc.

Now everybody hates him, and is rooting AGAINST him and his companies. He’s lost at least 3/4 of the American market, who would rather take a bus than drive a Tesla, and a lot of people who are left, can’t afford a Tesla anyway. The majority of Americans aren’t just boycotting Tesla until it shapes up, they want Tesla to fully FAIL, and go out of business.

Tesla will be bankrupt in 3 years, especially after the Dems take over, and fully investigate Musk’s behavior during the MAGA period.
