This, but unironically. I’ve met and worked under a bunch of different executives. The people that do the actual work are at least two levels of management below them and make a normal wage. Execs are useless at best and a liability at worst. There’s a reason that companies work just fine without executive roles filled, but fail immediately when there is a labor shortage.
Pay the workers the difference and just use a fucking ouija board if there’s a conflict of leadership.
Scrolling Lemmy right now to distract myself from the dumbest fucking meeting I just had with two execs at my company and two boot-licker wannabes. The amount of ignorant posturing made me turn my Zoom video off lest my aggressive eyerolling be a drag on my employability.
…parody? Pretty sure that was the idea behind AI all along. Replace humans and their salaries with one time cost AI.
“one time cost” lol. As idiots will do, they forgot to factor in the cost of electricity, which they’re now trying to pass on to the humans they are replacing.
If the maintence cost is passed onto the citizens, how is it NOT a one time cost for them?
“Trying to pass on”
If we allow it then we probably deserve it.
In Marshall Brain’s “Manna” the first jobs to be automated were managers at fast food restaurants
I think the joke is that management thinks the jobs replaced will be the workers. But even CEOs work for the capital class.
Sadly no.
AI could indeed replace low skilled labour as well as the bullshit most CEO are considering work. However the CEOs investing massively in the AI bubble are dreaming of the exactly opposite: Replace the skilled jobs of all those pesky people demanding actual wages and have everyone be a low-paid, well-conmtrolled peasant under their leadership.
