He’s also got less sense than I thought a human was capable of, which is saying something, if he was smart he’d have fucked off after PayPal like Tom did when he sold MySpace
It’s been clarified that you won’t need an id to buy. It would be more akin to a loyalty card. Seems they want to use it to track usage patterns and cut off scalpers.
In his empty head, there might be some connection to the Conservative Propaganda about people starving under Socialism, vs a Socialist opening grocery stores, and we’re supposed to see that as “Irony,” rather than popping a hole in their “Socialists Starve People” trope.
He’s just not smart enough, or sober enough, to follow the mental path beyond “Har, har, look at this Socialist with food, har, har. Ironic, huh?”
I had to sink to the lowest level but I think the perceived irony is that a socialist is opening a store which some people think is inherently capitalist
The meme of communism being the root cause of the starvation in the USSR and China is infuriating to me because it stops people from seeing the valuable lesson that’s actually there: the destruction caused by ideology taking precedence over evidence and a system that cannot see or adapt to evidence that it’s made the wrong decision.
A well run communist nation would have run optional trial programs to test lysenkoism. It would have slowly ramped it up, seeing if it actually produced results, all while promising those trying it that if it failed they’d be given food, and if it succeeded they’d be allowed to keep some of the surplus.
No way to safely test the 5 pests campaign though. Gotta have people who understand agriculture and ecology make agricultural decisions to stop that.
Regardless though, these problems aren’t innate to communism. Reaganism/Thatcherism are of the same nature. And fascists did it far more egregiously than anyone else, partly because their ideology is built on explicitly rejecting non ideological thought and all old ways of doing things. If communists call watering crops communism, fascists will build tents to keep their plants dry.
The USSR and China were and are not Communist countries. Just because they call themselves Communist, doesn’t mean they have anything to do with Marxism.
I don’t understand. What’s ironic about a socialist opening some city owned grocery stores?
Nothing in the slightest, Musk is just a dumbass with more money than any human should have.

My Space may be back.
So ive heard… im keeping my distance for the time being, seems like a trap
Wait, Tom is gone? He was a friend of mine!
Tom was and remains all of our friends, he left so it would be that way
I would be doing secret AI experiments with a small AI center if I was in his place.
Sounds dumb, until you realize I would be architecting the actual algorithm myself, and not for corporate goals.
it apparently requires an ID for… something…

Thank you for that clarification.
Imagine when he learns about library cards.
Or driver’s licenses
I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t even have one.
If I was a gazillionaire I would probably not drive.
Of course, I would also be a class traitor to the rest of the capital class and soon stop being a gazillionaire…
Ah, I see. And he’s saying it’s ironic for them to require an ID when they are against people having to show their ID at the polls. Right?

The irony is, he’s calling something irony and no one understands what he means.
The irony is that Musk, self-proclaimed super genius, doesn’t know what irony is while calling things ironic.
he would like the days when children return to the precious stone mines in South africa.
That would be emerald-y
probably force them to go africa, south america again and mine rare earth minerals
He’s like a spoon who thinks it’s a knife.
Alright, alright. I see you’ve played knifey spoony before.
I actually haven’t, ironically. Is that a sex thing?
Only if you’re in Australia
An innocent Simpsons reference I’m afraid.
Isn’t it like rain on your wedding day?
I thought it was more like a traffic jam, when you’re already late
I had to sink to the lowest level but I think the perceived irony is that a socialist is opening a store which some people think is inherently capitalist
Thank you, my brain was failing to understand even in theory what point he thought he was making…
Even if it is dumb, I at least like to know the reason…
By Zeus, that makes sense now.
Gommonysm 100Trillion starbed hardyharharhar
You need to dial down your intellect to the extend of a 12 yo, than you understand the mind of trillionaire.
