Ok just to state a small bit, I don’t have friends in this state. All.of my friends I talk to live elsewhere. It’s something I’m working on, but it’s been a struggle.

As for my state I live in Missouri. According to your site, Missouri is big red. It breaks down like this:

    • Republican - 2,046,702 - 49.3%
    • Democrat - 1,386,451 - 33.4%
    • Independent - 712,355 - 17.2%
    • Other - 4,949 - 0.1%

You combine the non-Republican numbers and you get 2,103,755 or 50.6%. So yes it might be possible for a Dem to have a slight edge IF they can win over the other two sides. That’s a massive uphill battle considering the people I used to talk to when I worked retail feel the Dems abandon them. The only people still supporting them really are union members and people living in the couple cities. The people outside of the cities that don’t have union jobs never feel heard from Dems and the Republicans play into that hard. Even if the Conservatives don’t actually do anything positive for them, they at least pretend to care in the run up to election whereas the few Dem candidates refuse to touch the smaller areas.
