As long as you vote blue no matter who, there is no need for the party to listen to your demands. If you don’t vote because you’re not happy with the candidates, they will blame you if they loose. Representative democracy is a scam and not by accident
I focused on the US because that’s what the post was about but here in Germany, it’s only gradually better but I’m far from happy with it. There are topics with a majority of the population in favor but a minority in parliament. Granted, some of the elements of my first mental list have changed by now but also, all the parties are moving to the right.
