    Canned beans. I love some bean medley but at $3 a can… guess I can’t even have beans.

        I am 50/50 on dry beans not rehydrating. Half the time I can have beans tomorrow.

          You soak them overnight then boil them on blast for like 30 minutes? If they’re still not coming to then it’s likely your dry beans are too old.

            Yeah, and these are half the beans I get from the store. I think the dry bean logistics has failed here.

          You’re making sure not to add any acidic ingredients until they’re fully cooked? That’ll stop the cooking.

          Besides that, I think age matters.

            Its the age I think. I have tried soaking in water and brine (brine works better) for long long times. Some of my beans never get soft even after 24 hours of soaking and 10 hours of cooking, its the most work for crunchy beans I have done.

            Some of the bags I think are just old in the stores.

            Age definitely matters. They can go hard, they can even go off. Had the later happen with chickpeas
