Great timing, hell was running low on broccoli due to routinely forcefeeding them to everyone. (For the record I don't mind broccoli, in fact one of my go-to meals is mashing it into mash potato until the whole thing turns bright green and then you have it with sausages and gravy, now that's a meal.)
Learn how to season and cook veggies if your warlock child does this
Personally, I slice the broccoli, get some oil hot, put in garlic and ginger roasting them for a bit, add some chicken stock and a smidge of soya sauce and add in the broccoli. When the stock evaporates keep adding olive oil in small amounts until the broccoli is cooked. Broccoli will take more olive oil than you’d think it could, even more than you think it should. Support your broccoli in its goals. Let it become one with the olives
Edit: I suggest boulion cubes but halve the suggested water. I’m I make my own stock from scratch and simmer the shit out of it so it fits in the freezer though
Edit 2: also tastes great with veggie broth.
I like broccoli. And brussels sprouts.
The reason it is such a recurring theme is that broccoli and sprouts were cultivated to taste good over time. In the recent past, they had a more bitter taste which lead to some generations disliking them.
Also that in the recent past, people didn’t know how to cook.
I grew up with my parents serving me bland and mushy broccoli, and I hated it.
Now I cook broccoli oven roasted, or pan-cooked and slightly blackened, tossed in olive oil, seasoned well with salt and pepper. Maybe soy and garlic instead if I’m feeling it. Always al-dente and absolutely fucking delicious.
If I cooked broccoli the way my parents used to, it would still taste like shit - genetically sweeter or not.
I just microwave it and love it lol
With garlic, olive oil and good seasoning you could make anything taste good.
There is nothing worse to the eyes than that sickly yellow-green color of massively overcooked broccoli.
Broccoli is an excellent vehicle for mayonaise.

Broccoli is supposed to taste good. Steam it, cool it down, then put olive oil on it.
This but add lots of garlic
This but broil it instead of steaming it.
Slice and fry that bitch in the olive oil. Add garlic and ginger, chicken stock (or veggie broth), you got a meal
