If google believes I’ll find porn by looking up “naked” on youtube thu problem might be tht they forgot their content filters… Not the search

A while back I sent my buddy a TikTok with the comment “this fucking killed me” and got an “if you are thinking about hurting yourself, here is the suicide prevention hotline” automated warning in the chat.

      Psychedelic porn crumpets

      no results

      Such fun!

They even renamed their channel to Psychedelic Prn Crumpets

I think youtube just wants more people to create accounts, to force more and more views to be tied to IDable users.

If you search “springbok girls”, you get about 50/50 results of them and the South Africa women’s national rugby team 😄

I forget exactly what I was searching for, but it had the word young in it. Google told me this is illegal and refused to do it.

Scared me off the whole Internet for like 2 days.

That one seemed to be all about offending substrings in words.

I find this one even dumber actually because it’s simply dumb to censor the word “naked”, which isn’t even explicit, can be used figuratively, etc.

I think youtube just wants more people to create accounts.

    Works for me…

    Anything special about your account?
    Family Link restriction or so?

I also haven’t seen a “confirm your age” message up to now.
    Maybe a country-specific restriction?
    Where are you from?

Okay, I see, didn’t notice the “login” on the screenshot before.
But then it kinda makes sense that the the most restrictive default filters are active.

No it doesn’t. It’s about friction. They want people logged in to better monitor them and collect their data. If someone uses their service while logged out the platforms make it difficult as possible in as many ways as possible to “encourage” people to create an account and log in. “Protecting the children” is just a satanic panic excuse. PARENTS are responsible for managing their children’s online activities. Expecting platform providers to be the arbitrators of morality for our kids (or for adults) is how we ended up with Elon Musk’s fucked up CSM generator on twixxer.

If those who have even heard about LBRY all started exclusively using it today, youtube wouldn’t even feel the traffic drop.

That is exactly the problem. I wander why much better platform is one that majority of people didnt even heard of. And much worse platform is the one that eweryone uses…?

Shouldnt we compare two by technology and see whic one is better instead of just using the popular one…? Because diference is huge!

Playing devil’s rusted avocado, if I know anything about mature content submissions, they’ll latch onto any whitelisted combo as soon as it’s discovered and dilute the actual desired content.

but that’s also true of literally any other keyword out there. They wouldn’t particularly be driving any more traffic since that’s not what the user was searching for, they’d just be getting their whole site delisted.

YT’s own search is garbage anyway. Whenever I try to use it, it’s completely useless. Language preferences are also non-existent anymore, it seems. Even if I set everything to English and the query is also in English, it still gives me only results in local language.
