“not suited for human life”? Really? 10°C is… incredibly mild. Most humans are comfortable at that temperature with just a jacket and maybe a hat.
Cold weather is all about actually dressing appropriately. Every person I’ve ever heard bitch and moan about it are never dressed appropriately. With the right clothing, you can be comfortable at most any low temperature (obviously, extremely low temperatures require specialized clothing/equipment).
The same cannot be said for hot weather, where extreme heat is both dangerous and unavoidable.

This. I visited Helsinki for the first time last winter, and we arrived just after the peak of a cold wave (between -11 and -21°C day and night). We went with proper layers so we were all right, but the next day on the small free walking tour there was an Indian guy who was only wearing a thin jacket like I would wear around +5°C. The poor dude was shivering and visibly miserable the whole time, so the tour guide made sure to add a few more indoor stops than usual where he could thaw a bit.
See I like winter, and where I live we have extended (days if not weeks) of -50°C and below.
The darkness on the other hand, is a bit much.
That being said, I love every season where I live. Summers are nice, fall is the best, winters are great but a bit long, and spring is the end of that long winter.

Tbf dressing for the heat is absolutely a thing (and it doesn’t mean get naked), but yeah if it’s humid out there isn’t much you can do.

I’ve been to places where it hits 13⁰ C early morning in the summer, not even high latitudes by any means.
Regardless, I’d always rather be too cold than too hot. Cooling down is a lot harder and usually more expensive.
