This might be a rare case where I actually don’t mind that.

If Labor’s going to put up someone who is a literal fossil fuel lobbyist as their candidate, they fucking deserve to lose. It’s sickening.

Also… The best way to be rid of ONP is for them to win a couple of elections so everyone can watch their candidates implode.

Hard disagree from me. Their candidates are already imploding and that isn’t stopping them, what will change if they win more seats? I don’t want to let ON’s benefactors capture government just to hope their voters decide to wake up.

It’s important to emphasise that we won’t have the commercial mass media or mainstream social media on our side for this battle.

This was some commentary on ABC’s politics now podcast: the federal labor party is going to be challenged by ONP, but if ONP wins some state govt elections it will take the heat out of their surge.

To clarify, is this talking about winning entire state gov elections? As in, in the future, ON wins QLD? I look at the long-term damage done by someone like Bjelke-Petersen.

A couple of seats gives them power but can backfire. Giving them a government allows for serious political corruption and more ability to maintain their power.

If this ABC podcast episode backed up that comment with some analysis, I’d like to give it a quick listen. Was it just recent?

To be clear: I’m not suggesting some elections should be thrown, to allow ONP to win some seats or form government. Of course, every election needs to be fought.

Its more like, the silver lining is that populist governments can’t govern, and in Australia an ONO state government would likely prevent an ONP federal government.

IDK if I’d call it “analysis”, but I’ll see if I can find the ep. It was recent but there’s a lot of episodes and this wasn’t the main subject.
