It can still have positive and negative lingering effects but focus on the big picture for a moment
For me:
- the opposite of having established redundant measures for safety kills. My finances have been improving since I plan for the worst and overestimate my liabillities while underestimating potential inflows


Things cant always be better
Specifically, I think this is the underlying psychological issue with drug/alcohol abuse. Of course there are genetic predispositions and other reasons people abuse drugs. But as far as the underlying lesson that has to be understood for someone to ever truly change their behavior, the lesson is that things cant always be better. Chasing a high will always lead to some kind of failure. Even with things other than drug abuse too.
There are always highs and lows to life. If you try to live every day on a high then it will not work. You will eventually reach a point where you cannot feel the high youre chasing, or worse youll end up dead. If you never accept the reality that things cant always be better today than they were yesterday, then the consequences will inevitably snowball and catch up with you one way or another
