She crossed a line praising the Lod massacre perpetrators. It was not an attack on the IDF, it was an indiscriminate attack on random people in an airport.

That said, we live in an era where criminal and genocidal language is spewed by the leaders of Israel, the US, and other countries. If only the same high standards were applied to them too.

This woman is a tankie nutbag who happens to be a pro-palestinian activist.

She voted against every EU resolution condemning Russia’s war on Ukraine.

When the French writer Boualem Sansal was jailed on bullshit charges in Algeria, that case was denounced by Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International. The European Parliament called for his immediate release. She was one of the only MEPs to vote against his release.

She was denied a visa to Canada after she was asked two questions

    • Did a country ever deny you a visa? (Israel did)

    • Did you ever face lawsuits? (Yes)

Instead of answering the truth, she answered “NO” to both questions.

In an online post, she argued she did that because “these questions aren’t legitimate”.

    That was a major mistake

Immigration Canada really doesn’t give a shit about what you think.

You can not lie on a canada immigration form. That’s called misrepresentation. Anyone who knowingly engages in misrepresentation must face immediate denial of entry into the country (Article 40, Canadian Law on Immigration and citizenship).

When Immigration Canada discovered this, her visitor visa was cancelled.

Any chance you can provide a source on that? It sounds believable, but it’s not mentioned in the article OP posted, and I can’t find anything else that confirms it. All reporting I’ve read says that CBSA refused to comment (as expected, since it concerns private information).

French here, I think the information is confirmed. A weird campain is led against this woman, and at that point I’d call it harrassment, especially after the far right ambush set-up that led to the even weirder death of a young neo-nazi militant (the local intelligence had been following them, the police was present and they let the fight happen…), which was blamed on her conference being held nearby.

The Nemesis collective was linked to it as a planner of said ambush that went haywire. That femonationalist collective was endorsed by a former right-wing minister of national security.

I really think it’s a sordid campain to undermine any french voice that would talk about the genocide in Gaza.

I think 2 things are true here:

      1. The government and billionaire media are really nipping at her heels, trying to turn anything related to her into a scandal. See the recent “drug scandal” which turned out to be a nothingburger (she was carrying CBD).

      2. She has tankie-adjacent views, and quoting a guy who did a mass shooting in a civilian airport is in really poor taste. I can’t defend it, “terrorism apologia” seems accurate here.

Because of the repetitive pattern of sham/shallow accusations which goal is only to give the collaborationist media more material for constant defamation (on her, but also on every leftist voice speaking against the genocide in Gaza and such, which is immediately tagged as “antisemitism” for easy silencing -it’s a globally used strategy, so nothing unfamiliar here, you’ve probably seen it used against many people who are raising their voice against Israel’s crimes against humanity, or their current expansion war -which they roped the USA into). For instance, she has been summoned by the police for her deleted tweet, and they “found” drugs in her purse, except 1- I won’t believe a person summoned to an appointment with the police can be stupid enough to BRING DRUGS in their purse (it was later denied by her lawyer anyway). 2- The info was leaked to collaborationist medias DURING the police custody, which is supposedly both impossible and illegal UNLESS the police themselves leaked something for the medias to gnaw on. And it’s always like that. As for the tweet that got her in “trouble”, it was okay according to international laws (relative to the right of an occupied/subjected to apartheid nation to bear arms to resist the occupant). So, yeah, in France, the collusion of the ultra-rich and far-right media is established, so much so that most people don’t even listen to them anymore. Whatever the country you’re from, the fascists have the same modus operandi, so if you hear corporate media say something and the story is too good to be true, then assume it’s simply no true, especially during war.

Hell no they didn’t. Hitler and crew didn’t need any help massacring everything that moved, and they were backed by German moneyed interests (you know, the people that stood to gain from his rule), not a worldwide Jewish conspiracy. In the first place, WWII didn’t contribute nearly as much as you’d expect to the creation of Israel; if anything it made the British acquiesce to Palestinian demands to secure their support. WWII was the culmination of European great power politics; besides, interwar Poland was one Zionists’ most important patrons, and its loss almost destroyed the whole project.

the conspiracy fantasies adopted by most commies happily conflate israel with the jews that control the world like the top comment in this post:

why do israel control what people say

the fantasy being that by some magical control mechanism the french government and laws are affected by??

stop hiding and playing this shell game just say what you really think

and as we know this antisemitic global conspiracy fantasy was invented by russia during the cold war - the home of poisonous communism

AIPAC literally funds American electoral candidates. The Western empire has a lot of interest vested in Israel. This is why Israel can still function as a settler-colonial state. It’s not the evli “commies” plotting against anyone.

Absolutely not. *Zionists" have a lot of money, but most of those Zionists are not in fact Jews. Western imperialists see their interests aligning with Israel, so they support it with money and influence; it’s really that simple. Thinking Israel controls the West is like thinking the hammer controls the carpenter because he doesn’t want it stolen.

Israel is the West’s last great colonial settler project so there has always been a predilection to turning a blind eye to international law in relation their geopolitical affairs. Far right authoritarians are often chummy with Netanyahu because he is living their colonial dream of genocide and displacement.

Why do they control what people say? I’m not sure it goes that far. But the cultural bias apparently runs deep enough in the West to ruin people’s lives over it if they dissent.
