Yes, the discourse is exhausting, regardless of where you fall, because it’s been astro-turfed to hell by the snake oil merchants who run the major US tech companies. Given their record, I think some level of skepticism is healthy, a lot of what I’ve seen on hear is just people arguing over “how much” skepticism is warranted. I was quite a skeptic myself, but there was a good post in on here in technology, from the DeepSeek kernel engineer, that explained a lot about why the tech is useful.
