Noam Chomsky: I’m not saying you’re self-censoring. I’m sure you believe everything you’re saying. But what I’m saying is that if you believed something different, you wouldn’t be sitting where you’re sitting.
It isn’t just that he “knew” a sex trafficker, it’s that he tried to help a sex trafficker white-wash his reputation for sex trafficking. It’s not guilt by association, it’s guilt by his specific actions.
I ask you again, of what relevance is that to the topic being discussed? The obvious relevance seems to be that it is a blatant ad hominem. I don’t care if Chompsky is a boy scout or a boy scout rapist, in the context of evaluating his arguments.
Yeah, I honestly don’t know what to make of that, it’s personally a real letdown as Chomsky’s power came from truth telling and moral clarity, and then he hangs out with that fucking pedo. I’m not sure what he was accused of specifically. I thought it was that he had dinners with Epstein. I hadn’t heard he advised him. That’d be next level bad.
However, I don’t think that changes his analysis. Either it’s valid or not.

All I can say is that like 15 years ago, people like him, Norm Finkelstein and Chris Hedges helped to plant me on the left. Finding out about Epstein has been difficult to understand given his work and the effect it had on me.
Noam Chomsky is an asshole for many reason aside from this one quote, look sorry but i have no idea how you didn’t notice his awful behaviors, this post only scratches the surface, he guided people but if you look deeper you realize its just a superficial cover for awful action and self-interest, its actaully surprisingly similar to what Charley Kerk was doing only his speech of con coded and well… he didn’t get as far as Noam, using conservative language to push fascist ideas. you not notice until only recently real shows how easy it is to trick large groups of people.
