I think it’s because the district he’s in was made via Democrats gerrymandering. But it’s a big, rural section on the Eastern Shore with a lot of farm land. Big Trump signs in their fields and painted on sides of barns. Though the state also voted in a Republican for governor so it’s got it’s quirks anyway.

I saw the clips of that on Internet Today last night. Jesus Christ what an embarrassment to the species. I’ve seen 5 year olds with better reasoning skills.

Was it the guy who thought being embarrassed was an infringement on his constitutional rights?

maga has always tried to make it seem like their views and policies are reasonable and both sides deserve equal weight. It’s a step on the way to critical thinking but they never reach it. The next step is analyze the outcomes and data and causes to come to an informed and accurate conclusion. The maga pointed at all the wrong stuff instead of the real blame, the tariffs and the war for all the higher prices. What a sick excuse to want more pollution for people in the areas near data centers and industrial areas. We deserve cleaner air, land and water, not worse, not regression. The maga way is unacceptable to healthy humanity. Do better!

Shortly after the debate, Harris, a staunch MAGA Republican who has avoided in-person town halls since 2023, tried to get a reporter arrested for recording his speech to a group of journalists.

Nothing in the article or subsequent links indicate that he actually managed this. The Twitter-link just has him making idle threats about referring a random person with a cell phone camera to a prosecutor. There was no follow-up to determine if a complaint was filed or a prosecutor contacted.

I do think it’s glaring to see a sitting Congressman outright admit intent to conspire with state prosecutors for a malicious misuse of power. But unless he followed through… No different than a guy standing in front of an ATM while announcing, “You owe me money and I’m going to break you open to get it”.

Who says there would be a record for you to check? You think he’s filing a police report? The reporter would just be arrested later on some made up unrelated bullshit, their house will be ransacked, dogs shot, car impounded. Of course the charges will be dropped but he point is the same: This is what happens if you fuck with me.

Why the fuck would you say those threats are idle?

      Threats are still threats.

Don’t like the blowback, maybe don’t threaten people all the time.

Christ, does anyone want to start a small fund to pay me to go ask these assholes these questions?

Cops like to hit women but let’s see them go after a middle-aged, conservative-looking white dude with privilege.

I’d really rather just ask them tough questions on camera, because someone fucking has to.

I live in a red area of a not-red state and these people, my neighbors? Most of them aren’t intentionally evil. They’re propagandized because they don’t ever see any actual news about politics.

As a former Republican: Most Republican voters would not vote for Republicans if they had accurate information about both parties.

This website drives me crazy. If I open links in reader mode, they always show me a completely random article.

TNR is a shadow of its former self. Chewed up and spit out by one private interest after another going back to the Andrew Sullivan Era. Now it’s barely more than clickbait.

And yet here in Ohio, Amy Acton (an actual doctor who was the head of the states medical department during COVID) is getting rakes over the coals for every trivial thing about her mIsHaNdLiNg of the states COVID response…by the people who said COVID was bullshit

A friends kid has been seeing those commercials and told her mom recently “Amy Acton drinks drugs.”

So we’ve been having a laugh at that for a while.

Amy Acton eats foods. Amy Acton walks dogs. Amy Acton blinks too loud. Etc.

So if that’s gonna be how you title your article, it’s a bit wild that at the VERY bottom of the enytie article all you say about it is this:

Shortly after the debate, Harris, a staunch MAGA Republican who has avoided in-person town halls since 2023, tried to get a reporter arrested for recording his speech to a group of journalists. Harris incorrectly stated the reporter was breaking the law as she asked about his support for the war.

That’s it. As far as what matches the title.

Were there officers present? Did they call the police? Did they just say “Hey, that’s illegal” or what? I DON’T FUCKING KNOW because they didn’t report any of it.
