Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he considers freezing military operations along the current front line and shifting the conflict to the diplomatic track a realistic way to end the war.

He made the remarks in a special interview with U.S. television network Fox News, Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the broadcaster.

Asked whether Kyiv would accept a peace deal that froze the conflict along the current line of contact while leaving more than three-quarters of Ukraine’s territory under its control, Zelensky replied:

“Yes. If we have to freeze military operations right now, I think this is the most realistic way to end the war,” the Ukrainian leader said.

I think it’s mostly economics related

Undoubtedly, that’s why sanctions work, but they let their oligarchs take control despite the economic disaster post-1991 and that’s partly because of propaganda ; they also considered that there was no viable economic model to their East despite China’s rise, and that’s also partly because of capitalist-induced propaganda.
Their institutions right down to even their statistical institutes were already controlled by the west before 2014, and almost all of their minister of Culture came from western Ukraine(, excepting Ivan Dziouba and Iouri Bohoutsky), among dozens of other things, without counting western lies(, one out of so many).
So while socio-economics(, especially right next to Poland,) clearly are the main driver behind leader&population decisions, i’ll still continue to accuse propaganda when it affirms that there is no alternative.
