We urge Paramount to listen to the voices of millions of fans who are yearning for more adventures in the Starfleet Academy. Renewing the show for a third season is not just a business decision; it’s about continuing a legacy, honouring storytelling, and nurturing a global community of Trekkers.

I don’t know, Im not a fan of the Kurtzman-era Trek. I’d prefer it if they’d create a series that’s closer in tone to the earlier stuff.

While that may be your view, I hope you’re not going to work against the show or shows like it either.

Because very many people who between 40 and 55 did brigade against this show, gave it very negative reviews, and discouraged others from watching it without watching a full episode themselves. To the point that Psychology Today wrote a feature article The Trouble With Review Bombing.

Anyone over 35 is not in the key demographic. I dare say that’s most 90s Star Trek fans and most of us on this board.

But if we go out of our way to say that if it’s not made for us we’ll attack it relentlessly so that younger, target viewers won’t even try it, then it’s not going to serve anyone.

And yes, I have seen the entire season of SFA. I watched it with my partner and one of our GenZ kids. And I have signed the petition.

        Ok, so we’re all wrong.

They cancelled the show because no one watched it, despite free episodes.

They put the show on a small niche streamer that doesn’t have an audience in the demographic that the show was made for.

The show did much better on Amazon channels than on Paramount+ — ranking 1 or 2 across its run. That tells you that the problem is that Paramount+ has narrowed its audience to Sheridanverse fans, not that the show isn’t good.

Every show Paramount+ has tried to attract the younger GenZ audience with has failed. And the streamer is failing — which is why Paramount has been bought and the streamer will be merged with HBO Max.

      That is your opinion.

I’m a huge fan of Kurtzman and all the New Trek that he created. I love them all. I often rewatch Discovery, Picard, even Academy. I need it. I need this. The entire world is gone to shit, and his shows, his creations, are the only thing that sooth me right now.

These comments, like the one you just made, are exactly why Academy has been cancelled, why Discovery was cut short, and so forth.

I truly dislike Star Wars. And yet, you’ll never see me bitching about it in their forums. I don’t think about it at all until something about it shows up, and even then, I just ignore it and move along, like any normal person would do.

If you don’t like it, if it’s not for you, then just don’t watch it, but shut the fuck up!!! Let those who enjoy it, enjoy it.

Yes, “you’re entitled to your opinion etc.”, but do you absolutely have to ruin it for everyone else?!? You’re part of the problem here.

You, and all others with their continuous vile comments, bear part of the responsibility in the cancellation of a beloved, respected show.

Starfleet Academy fucking REEKS of being one of those instances where someone had a story concept that was too weak to stand on its own so they slapped a beloved existing IP over it and called it a day. I’m glad its getting canceled, that sort of thing should never be rewarded. It’s lazy and insulting to the fans of whatever IP they stole to try to prop up their mediocre story.

I’m with you, i couldn’t watch past 3rd episode, it was just too cringe inducing for me. I love Strange New Worlds though, i don’t want that atrocity that is Academy poison the Star Trek well.

    “Millions” of fans.

Viewership is so low for this series, I doubt it comes close to just one million.

A significant portion of the positive user reviews on Rotten Tomatoes are bots, very obviously bots (I can post examples if you don’t believe me). But even with all the botting it cannot get a marginally decent user score.

I could say “just leave it die”, but I’m confident enough there aren’t enough of you who actually like the series to make a difference.

    So…uh… Good luck.
