Edit:
The next day. Same spot - different tools and cup.

Not wasted! If she’s anything like me, the fact that the coffee is fancy is largely for herself. I can’t stand offering anyone in my house worse coffee than I would make for myself, unless they specifically prefer it that way. It just feels so wrong.
If you get any extra enjoyment out of the fanciness level, that’s just additional icing on the cake.
I doubt most cavemen possessed two framing squares.
That fancy coffee is not a waste, its worth it
that is a very kind gesture. i have a client who brings me mcdonalds coffee and you know what? hell yeah i don’t have to get up and get a cup of coffee i fucking appreciate that.
that coffee is not wasted on you at all dude. you deserve it
The coffee isn’t wasted - just the fancy part of it. It’s pretty good coffee though. They’ve got a proper espresso machine too.
Absolutely not complaining here. I’m so fucking delighted to see how nice most people actually are. I really do enjoy the human encounters in my job which I’m surprised to say.
As someone who doesn’t drink coffee, but enjoys making proper cortados for my partner, the coffee is not wasted.
Your customer is proud of what they make, and you present an opportunity to show off so the effort is as much for them as for you. Compliment them on it, even if it’s not your style, and they will appreciate it immensely.
Enjoy that coffee yo! You deserve it!
It’s not wasted on you, bro: you are important.
came here to say just this.
If you enjoy it, then its not wasted!
Does it annoy you that your combination square has metric on one side and American on the other, instead of having the same measurement on both sides?
How do you cope with measurements on both the inside and outside of corners?
I have no use for freedom units in my line of work, so ideally it would be metric only, but I can deal with it. It has measurements on both sides so I can usually just flip it if I need the metric units on the other side of the ruler.
Maybe that’s just his left handed square and the right handed square is out of shot.
you have a pico pencil, not uncivilized
Lady customer is into cave man maybe?
She could just be being nice.
I do this kind of thing for people, it does not mean anything further than, “look what I can do” and “please enjoy”.
Doesn’t concern me for as long as her husband is my best paying customer.
It just may not be with money….
Eww. Can’t be nice nowadays?
It’s a foamed milk /w espresso with cocoa powder on top and not a sexual advance. Might even be made from a pod machine as opposed to a proper espresso machine. Not a blowjob.
They’re doing the long con, so to say, by cultivating the acquired taste. By the end of the job you’ll be able to tell the difference between Kenyan and Ethiopian arabica.
Shhhh - don’t give away the secrets of Big Bean!

I agree
What if they brought some craft beer?
Then I couldn’t drive home at the end of the day due to my principles about drinking and driving but that’s okay - my toolkit includes a toothbrush

Do you enjoy the coffee? Then it’s not wasted.
No. He means he pours it out and adds whisky to the cup.
Iittala Taika-mug! Customer has a nice taste!
What’s the story with this ruler. It seems to be have markings for measuring up to 20.5cm of length, but it’s labeled from 10 to 30. Why does it not start from zero?
We do not ask about the compact ruler. We don’t even acknowledge it’s there.
There’s a French First Empire joke in here somewhere.
Well, now I see it as well, and I’m laughing. Thanks for that 😂
It used to be 30 cm long, but I shortened it and rounded the corners. I had to cut off the first 10 cm rather than the 20–30 cm section, because otherwise I’d lose the markings for the first few millimetres when I grind the corner.
Makes perfect sense! The sharp corners on most rulers like this aren’t very pocket-friendly.
Ruler starts a 0, markings start at 10. A bit like how some cars speedos start at 10.
As for the othet end, did you mean 30.5?
The roads might be safer if we marked speedos like this
