well no one wants him to be in first line of the charge as medieval king would be, but he doesn’t want to look bad on tv - and i think if he had really attacked china, it would be so bad that even he would understand that people are laughing at him.
The US has prepared for years to take down China. All the politics and regime changes, e.g. the recent Taiwan Cambodia conflict, are about containing China.
The US won’t step down voluntarily which means that there will be war.

Either they play deranged superpower for a very clever negotiation strategy or they plan on just bombing China into the stone age with nuclear weapons.
