    Cars are a lot heavier now and speed limits should be reduced because of this.

      Some are, not all. Even those big pickups are probably about the same as early 70s personal luxury cars.

        Ev/hybrid the batteries are heavy.

        SUVs are heavier than station wagons but we should compare them to sedans due to popularity.

        You will be surprised how much heavier the modern cars are, even compared to steel body cars from the 60s.

        Pickups from the 1970s were 3000lbs, now they are double that.
