That goes for pedophilia too. They don’t choose it. Doesn’t mean it should be acted upon when you’re attraction is inherently dangerous or immoral. They should seek counseling to try to prevent acting out their urges. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
I have to say i am very proud of all of you. Most of the time if pedophilia comes up, the common reaction is rage and vigilantism. Seeing so many of you saying that pedophiles didn’t choose to be this way and that they need therapy is kinda wholesome compared to the discussions i already had to endure.
I fully agree, but there are so many people out there conflating the two terms. Sexual abuse of children (and women) often has no connection to pedophilia at all - it’s awful people getting off on the power imbalance.

There’s a very important distinction between a pedophile and a child abuser. The former is an affliction, the latter is a choice.
