For one, many of the Pokémon that have been shown off in the game’s trailers are absent. In fact, on launch day, only around 180 'mons are actually programmed into the game. Now, we knew not every Pocket Monster would be available, but fewer than 200 is a bit of a surprise
Pokopia is a silly spin-off that would have been an automatic success on IP alone. It has 300 pokémon at launch, runs great, has loads of content and custom animations and feels very alive with many real-time, interactive elements.
Meanwhile the game built around the series’ minimal core mechanics apparently runs like shit, has about half as many characters as Pokopia and not even a fifth of the total roster, and doesn’t even implement correctly the simple established rules of a turn-based RPG battle.
That’s basically modern pokemon in a nutshell.
You know the way that Nintendo releases an unfinished and barely function game monetized with micro-transactions makes me think capitalism might be problematic
But people will still pre order… so why bother changing their ways.
Isn’t it a free game?
LOL…I’m imagining people pre-ordering a free game now
I could see it happen
I would, if given the opportunity. I assume that by preordering, the game is automatically added to my account and maybe even installed on my system on release. That way, if I see an interesting game, I can mark to play it when it comes out without worring about release dates or forgetting about the game while waiting for it to release. Unlike a paid game, I am not out any money if the game is not as good as advertised.
Hey, that’s fair!
Gamefreak is back on form
This one isn’t on Gamefreak, the people behind the diamond and pearl remakes made this one.
