If you’re into the horror genre, the Bram Stoker Awards for 2025 have just released their preliminary ballot listings. Lots of categories, lots of great work - not just book fiction but also graphic novels, poetry, short stories and non-fiction.
Y’know, just in case you wanted to add to your already completely unmanageable TBR piles.
I actually did read Mexican Gothic a few years back and enjoyed it as well. I think I’m conflating “horror” with “scary” or “off-putting” and that’s why I keep coming up short with this genre.
