That is not what the study found: “Rather than being merely shifted towards either end of the male-female spectrum, transgender persons seem to present with their own unique brain phenotype.”
So trans people seem to have an abnormal brain, rather than a brain more physiologically like their perceived gender. This makes sense since a lot of mental illness can cause detrimental physical alterations on the brain. Depression is one such example: https://www.webmd.com/depression/depression-physical-effects-brain
It is what the study found. I didn’t say anything about it being shifted towards either end of a spectrum, I said that it seems to have a neuroanatomical component.
Sexual orientation also has a neuroanatomic component to it, or an “abnormal brain” if we use your words. Do you think that homosexual people are also mentally ill, or that that is just natural human diversity. Because that would be a weird double-standard.
You misunderstand me. The negative emotions associated with transgender identity is the mental illness. Just like someone can be a so called “self hating gay”. The issue arises when the rest of society is forced to acknowledge that a trans person actually is the thing they imagine themselves to be. Your rights end where mine begin.

Do you think that everyone has the same amount of attention span that you do? You realize that we can scroll up to see your original reply where you say that mental illness is characterized by “an abnormal brain” right?
Trans people having negative emotions isn’t because of societal acceptance, it’s the opposite. The issue arises when people disregard trans people’s experiences and call them “mentally ill”, and even refuse care proven to work on the basis of calling them mentally ill.
Sorry I infringed on your right to call me “he” lmao.

No I didn’t. I said that trans gender identity is often correlated with mental distress. It is this distress that is the illness. The same illness that reshapes a person’s brain so that we can see the structural abnormalities on scans.
Trans people having negative emotions isn’t because of societal acceptance, it’s the opposite.
They have negative emotions regardless of societal acceptance.
The issue arises when people disregard trans people’s experiences and call them “mentally ill”,
These two concepts are not linked. You can’t disregard that something exists AND call it a mental illness. You can do Either, not both.
and even refuse care proven to work on the basis of calling them mentally ill.
Two questions here:
1: Why would anyone deny mental care to the mentally ill?
2: What standard of care is it that has proven reduction in suicidality?
Cool. Thank the non-extant god I don’t suffer from suicidal ideations any more then. Otherwise your words might have had the effect you intended. I won’t extend the same sentiment toward you because I know that some people have very small tolerances that keep them walking among us. I don’t wish death even on those who staunchly hold different political opinions to what I do. That is one fundamental point at which we differ.
I’ll be here if you ever change. Your words won’t change that.
Why the fuck would I ever want the acceptance of a bigot? It’s not politics, you’re talking about actual people. You’re actively trying to dehumanize people. Your faux civility doesn’t hide your vileness, we see you. You acting like a jilted saint isn’t for us, those are just for yourself, because you’re dumb enough to eat your bullshit, I’m not. Maybe try to reconnect with those ideations, we’d all benefit from them, including you.
Why the fuck would I ever want the acceptance of a bigot?
How am I a bigot? Because I don’t agree with you?
It’s not politics, you’re talking about actual people.
Of course it is political and cultural. How we construct gender is incredibly cultural and therefore political.
You’re actively trying to dehumanize people.
How is saying that x group of people are mentally ill, in any way, making them LESS human. Are cancer patients or suicidal people LESS human?

I am not quite sure what you are trying to say here. I get that you think my civility is disingenuous, but it seems like English isn’t your first language. I apologize, but I don’t follow the rest.
Maybe develop some reading comprehension, or comprehension in general. If you’re too stupid to figure out basic english then maybe you shouldn’t be putting forth your world views in adult conversation settings.
Gender is typically congruent with one’s sex, it isn’t completely unrelated to one’s biology. Gender identity also seems to have a neuroanatomic component to it.
“Their socially constructed and self perceived gender” is meaningless. Trans people’s gender identity is incongruent with their sex. That’s it.

So racist AND transphobic. Fucking kill yourself.
Excuse me? Are you alright buddy?
I would have to agree with their assessment of you. It would be a net benefit to the world as a whole.
