The PI is usually a PHD with years of experience in charge of a lab, their job is to conduct research and answer questions. They’ll bring on post docs and PHD/MSC students to conduct that research, write papers and progress thesis projects. Source: got my MSC in nutrition a few years back then spent a portion of my career in a pathology service core for the local research community so I’ve seen a lot of different projects over the years (spicifically biology/histopathology).

I used to live within a certain radius of one, our local school used to stock iodine pills in case of an emergency. Luckily I’m Canadian and we have one of the best nuclear track records full stop so it was never a worry.

There is a whole sub-plot in the show “the expanse” where the mormom church is basically a hedge fund and they build their own colony ship to fly off into space. Great show.

Those are such sweet cats, I got one of those boys and he’s my little buddy.

I feel like bees are a bit of a grey area. We’re not eating them, we’re kind of like landlords that give them a nice place to stay and they pay rent in honey. I’m not vegan so I’m not quite sure what the rationale is for bee stuff.
