

I might have phrased that badly with the 5 years thing. Obviously no one doing open source owes anyone else their time or effort. I do think that projects which stay afloat for a significant amount of time are those where the maintainers keep using the software for their own purpose.
In any case, I wish you good luck with that project, and might become a user if it comes to fruition too.






I have been building a backlog of both VR-native and VR-moddable games. I already own an Index and a Quest 3S. The latter I bought second-hand on the cheap and it really sold me on SteamVR streaming over WiFi. I have been waiting for the Frame in order to get a “modern VR” experience (wireless, pancake lenses, higher resolution, inside-out tracking, foveated rendering).

And then there are the oldies but goodies. I’ll likely return to Half-Life: Alyx for a 4th playthrough, and also have another go at Moss Book I & II. BeamNG.drive will definitely be back on the menu for various driving shenanigans, and Dungeons of Eternity for some multiplayer dungeon crawling.
