  • I’m trying to think about other celebrations you might be referring to. For example… Hitlers death wouldn’t have been celebrated simultaneously due to being limited to the methods of news communication of the time - back then it was radio, telegraph and film so it wouldn’t have been celebrated at the same time. Today, we have smartphones with push notifications. Your other point is spot on, tho… For what ever reason, a person full of hate seems to live longer out of spite.

  • I recently picked up an Owala 40oz that tapers to fit a cup holder. Stainless with double wall insulation. Lockable lid. Replaced the plastic straw with a stainless one. Having the option to chug or suck on a straw is really nice. I just wish the lid and mechanism for drinking was also stainless instead of plastic. I also prefer a paracord handle that detaches on one side so I can attach it to a bag instead of the ridged attached one.

  • Yeah, it’s not my intent to make what amounts to an ignorant comment. My thought has always been that Cinco de Mayo and St Patrick Day celebrates cultures - not blatently stating that it’s a “country” celebration… The title of this parade, from an outsider looking in, doesn’t seem to emphasize the culture, but rather the country.

Around my area, we have the Polish Day Parade. The point to celebrate the Polish culture. In this case, calling it an Isreal Day Parade seems to bring the country as the subject, not the culture and not the Jewish religion.
