Great thoughts. One of the points I particularly agree with is that dems point out what won’t work. They are the “against” party. Part of that is bc the minority has to act in opposition. For as awful as the GOP is, they are “for” things. The demsocs at least stand for something.

someone must have dirt on him

If Sandy Hook families have not received anything from Alex fatfuck Jones yet, this woman will never see a dime.

It’s ironic that your reply is downvoted when the original comment claims lemmy doesn’t shut out opposing viewpoints. I like lemmy way better that reddit, but there is definitely things I wouldn’t post on here based on the way some others have seen get crusified.
Man, I’m embarrassed I needed this explained to me, but anchor is such a good description. Imagine what people could/would do if they didn’t have to be bound to their employer by health insurance.

Noted. I’m not arguing either side, but it’s possible that there is a bias against older people based on anecdotal experience. To you point though, there probably are many things that factor into the policy. If older people are driving less, they still are a lower risk to crash as a demographic.

I looked up Illinois’ most recent crash stattistics and found that 75 and older had some of the lowest crash rates, about 3x less crashes than 18-19 year olds, even with about 2.5 times more licensed drivers in the 75+ age bracket.

Take it as a warning of how little each of us really understands about the way the world works.

Das Boot Part 2

Unintentionally, most likely, but yeah kinda. As much as I hate having higher prices connected higher fuel cost, I also have schadenfreude for every dickhead with an F150 have to spend $100 every fill up.

Right? I can’t believe how easily we all get suckered into the latest shiny object. This is just another distraction to keep us looking the other way. Another example of flooding the zone. Meanwhile, on polymarket …
Have you heard 1952 Vincent Black Lightning by Richard Thompson? The story is simple and sad, but the way it’s sung makes it especially emotional (at least for me).
What boundaries would you consider for it? Like would psych (night beats, osees, kglw) be considered for it, or just heavy rock (e.g. electric wizard, sleep, etc).
