Eh, in this case yes, but I’ve seen two musicians do it at hardcore and metal shows recently. Both after talking about mental health and/or suicide within the community. I’m fine with those

I got hit by a car while biking without a helmet! Toppled up onto their hood and slid off once they came to a complete stop. Totalled the bike. I just got really fucking lucky and didn’t hit my head. Would not advise.
I was just lazy and didn’t go back up to my apartment once I got down and realized I had forgotten the helmet, because it was “just a short ride to the park”. Never again.

3·1 month agoYea tech got corrupted with the high software salaries. A friend of a friend is a software engineer, really smart guy, really nice and fun to be around from the few times I met him. But I lost a lot of respect for him once he told me he works for Samsung’s ad department. I’m sure he makes a crap load though.

News@lemmy.world•Texas students could soon be forced to read from the Bible in public schools
0·1 month agoFair point. I wasn’t really thinking of the book of revelations when I made that comment. Or the concept of hell. I’m agnostic/atheist now and don’t really care what people think the afterlife or end of times may look like (as long as they’re not actively trying to start the apocalypse or some shit). I more meant the teachings about loving your neighbor and feeding the hungry and helping the poor.
Pretty sure he also taught about false prophets and not trying to predict the end of times, but they seem to be ignoring that too, at least the extremists. I’d be on board with people living their daily lives how Christ taught is what I meant.

News@lemmy.world•Texas students could soon be forced to read from the Bible in public schools
0·1 month agoI grew up in Texas in the 90s, in their public schools and going to church every Sunday. I’d be fine with Christianity if they all actually read the teachings of Christ and acted accordingly. But… Nah…
And even then, if that fantasy were reality, it shouldn’t be forced in public schools

I at least have external backups for important family pics and docs! But yea the homelab itself is severely lacking. If it dies, I get to start from scratch. Been gambling for years that “I’ll get around to a backup solution before it dies”. I wouldn’t bet on me :|
What’s a backup solution…? (I’m only being half sarcastic, I really need to set one up, but it’s not as “fun” as the rest of my homelab, open to suggestions)
