I’m sure voting will change things! /S

If he’s raping America so bad and a criminal than why hasn’t any government agency done anything? Yet the same agencies can pin point a crack head from space and figuratively rape their life to death?

    This is happening on purpose.

They’ve been conditioned to want to own the libs for a while now, and FOX News has gotten super good at it.

The fear and outrage and open bigotry are the hook that pulls people in. Then the red-pills (the conspiracy theories) invite the viewer to disregard all other news sources that run contrary. They’re being gaslighted the same way an abusive spouse isolates their partner so there is no where else to go. Soon the viewer is in an information silo, just them and FOX News, alone together.

And then every story confirms the MAGA ideology.

I don’t know if there’s a counter for it. Reagan got rid of Fairness doctrine in news media, and our education system long decided that critical thinking skills beget disobedience.

I really need people to start to realize that were at least a full decade further into the erosion and decline of the United States than most people seem to think we are. Trump is a symptom of an already sick and dying system. This isn’t a fluke

I think the U.S. will decline much more quickly. The Orange Guy has been in office for barely more than a year and a half, again—the damage he’s done this time around is pretty much irreparable.

And just like every kinda country/ government it should come from it’s own people not from a foreign power.

It will not last if it comes from outside, the one who got taken down before, always goes back to the fake patriotism and put another dictator in same place back in the end, if not the same fucker (see Napoleon for example).

We should view wealth as a foreign power. The ultra wealthy are divested from the care and keeping of the country, and the regular people in it. They are openly hostile to the citizens, exploiting them and extracting rent and labor from them; and they seek to usurp and control the government.

True, a few business with over trillions of dollar while the fucking country is trillions in debt, it’s fucking ridiculous. They have money for war, but not for wealth, they have the biggest corporations in the planet but don’t have any perspective to pay any of their debts. No wonder a con man was elected to represent the people of US.

Funny though. Americans seem to think they can cart Blanche take control of, oh I don’t know: Cuba, Canada, Greenland, Denmark, Venezuela, Panama, and Iran and overthrow their governments with whatever right they seem to think they have. Hypocrisy much?

Alternative pitch, your politics were under developed in that era - and a lot of people in the mainstream culture were (through things like TV, an uncritical education system, and a lack of information) able to be politically inactive, and fairly unaware.

Because really you should have been sus on America and all the colonial countries and their parent countries for a long long time now.

Exactly, the year before actually when Bush stole the election from Gore. To me that marks the start of the decline of the US.

Really though Reagan kicked it all off but the actual collapse started in 2000.

Sooner we organize and wield our power as a group, the faster it’ll be over, and the safer we will all be. It’s going to hurt either way, at least if we organize we’ll have control over how and with hope of a better future.

        The longer we wait though…

When Fidesz campaigned for getting elected in 2010, they only asked for one or two terms.

Once they got elected, they asked until 2030.

Around 2020, their think tanks claimed we can only think about a “post Fidesz society” after 2050.

Meanwhile I’ve heard that some people within the party wanted to turn the words “liberalism” and essentially “democracy” into synonyms of “chaos”.

The moment mothers scold their children for having a messy room by telling them there’s democracy in their room rather than anarchy, we have finally won, and turned democracy into an unthinkable ideology.
