Is fucking around and finding out in the Strait of Hormuz the naval equivalent of “Afghanistan is where empires go to die?”
Just like holding anything in Afghanistan is impossible for tactical reasons, and invading Russia is impossible for logistical reasons (unless you come from Mongolia, of course), maintaining a war against Iran has been impossible for economical reasons since the Middle Age.
And apparently adding Eastern Africa to any imperium will destroy it too, but I can’t imagine why that is.
Alexander the Great our Leaders are not. Coincidentally the last to conquer Afghanistan as well, although he had to take their Roxanne as his bride to quell opposition.

I just assumed someone used AI to make a Far Side-like comic. I actually continued to believe that even after noticing the date since AI has completely eroded my trust in everything but I am happy to confirm that it is real
