Fuck I love how queer FOSS is. When big tech corporations switch there support of LGBT organizations dependent on which party is in power to make a profit, FOSS will maintain there position.

It’s a chibi-esque-ish art style - not obviously manga but I can see why someone might think that if they were unfamiliar with the genre

Yeah tbh I’d probably call it a transpacific style. It’s in the realm where its style is clearly in the tradition resulting from decades of interaction and inspiration between Japanese and North American artists. It’s chibi meets post-calarts American

Eh, tbh i’m pretty weirded out by most of the anime culture/fandom as well. I pretty much blocked anything anime on the fediverse because i dont want to see it. But the anubis girl didnt even register as anime for me. Even if it did it would be 5 seconds to block that image with ublock.

Anyway, i hope this will be the last time i post about how i dont like certain aspects of anime because nobody gives a shit.

it’s like a post I read on the unixporn subreddit about people complaining of all the “anime linux rices” like my guy, everyone on this subreddit uses hyprland with the same neon colours, who cares? Have you seen the github profile picture of vaxry? it’s FOSS my dude, it’s all made by weebs and furries get over it.

The point is how expensive it is. For your 1 request, you wait 2 seconds, and the power draw is a minor inconvenience. For the massive botfarm, it adds up to days of CPU time and a significant portion of the electricity bill.

Tavis Ormandy wrote that he believes that the cost of scraping websites protected by Anubis is negligible: “I don’t think we reach a single cent per month in compute costs until several million sites have deployed Anubis.”

idk i think its pretty out of place and gets kind of obnoxious seeing specifically anime furry adjacent stuff all the time. If its your thing, its really your thing, if its not your thing its mildly annoying/occasionally weird. Theres some communities where if youre an outsider its better not to engage with the fandom but thats hard when its your job to interact with these people all day.

ok tangent: i used to think furries are mostly innocent nice nerds, but then i found out how the vast majority are into it as a kink or some kind of nasty besti*lity cartoon fetish nasty nasty. I get reallly uncomfy around those dudes that wear the mascot head to walmart or whatever bc i feel like hes gonna jerk off about being a dog later

edit: yeah that sums up my feelings, i feel gross like youre exposing me/involving me in your kink when i see that stuff. not in an extreme way or anything. but the nature of it being wantinf to fck dogs takes it up a notch

This reaction is not neutral. You’re missing the people in between those repulsed by the idea of silly animal cartoons (you) and those who actively enjoy silly animal cartoons. Which is everybody else, who just see a cartoon and do not care.

Legitimate completely non-sarcastic question because I’m actually curious. How do you feel about trans rights and how do you feel about Trump?

Furry porn is a thing the same way anime porn is a thing. Just because someone’s into anime doesn’t mean they’re jerkin it to anime all the time

then i found out how the vast majority are into it as a kink or some kind of nasty besti*lity cartoon fetish nasty nasty.

        Well, good news! You’re wrong!

A furry is simply somebody who’s a fan of anthropomorphics. For example, I’m a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I do not want to fuck the TMNT. I’m willing to bet most fans of the TMNT don’t.

I get reallly uncomfy around those dudes that wear the mascot head to walmart or whatever bc i feel like hes gonna jerk off about being a dog later

Maybe. Why do you care, though? It sounds like you’re upset about kinky people existing.

What’s your basis for saying the vast majority are into it as a kink thing? Because I’m someone who used to feel uneasy about furries for much the same reason you are — but that was when I personally knew few, if any people who were furries.

Over the last few years, my work has meant that I’ve met more furries than I can count, becoming friends with many of them, and developing a better understanding of what being a furry offers them. It’s not a sex thing for the vast majority of furries I have known. This isn’t just based on my experience either — I have an artist friend who draws furry porn for a living. Although she is not a furry herself, she exists in close proximity to the furry community so that she can network and get commissions, and she agrees that the people for whom it’s a kink thing is a minority

I was a furry before I had words for it, way before I knew anything about sex stuff… I learned the term “furry” around 2002 and was shocked there was a term for it, and quite a few other people who felt the same way I did!

Not cat but obviously a jackal… (seriously… was the name and the ‘weighing the soul of your connection’-thing not enough?)

    Not anime…

Not a nurse… (that’s a maple leaf on the cap and since when is a magnifying glass typical medical equipment?)

    Also and much more important:

Not the more annoying (and often failing) Cloudflare screen…

    Not another stupid CAPTCHA…

PS: Did version 1.23.1 really change the Canadian flag with a ‘CA’… I have found screen of versions older than that that did display the flag as do newer ones. So I’m really asking myself if that was an intentional edit to get away with the “nurse” argument.

it’s probably an emoji loading failure, that’s the “default” for flag when the correct image is not found (if it was a UK flag it would say GB)
