kitty cats going wonderfully. Cerys was sacked out in the nook of the cat tree when we Released The Hounds. Her hisses went from HISS to a deflated meh, even when sammy climbed on top of the nook, reached in and bapped her nose to play.
Max is an utter gentleman and kipped on the other cat tree in her eyeline slow blinking for ages.
Tap for spoiler

I know this is a tricky topic, but as someone who is trying to be frugal and looking for better employment, how can I get decent clothes for said employment? Any suggestions for acceptable female workwear? Has to be fairly modest due to the nature of the jobs
Couple of random thoughts. I used to thrift a lot but last few years I struggle to find good stuff. Blazers are usually one thing that I have been lucky with and a good linen blazer makes things look better. You could look into capsule wardrobes for some ideas to build up basics that match. Get some stuff that you can afford in a few basic colours and buy a more expensive version as things wear out. I naturally wear a lot of black but have a bunch of bright scarves and fun necklaces for colour.
For good work stuff I tend to now do that - buy a few good things and a bunch of basics. Sportsgirl I like for linen and cotton. Vine apparel is an online store in Sydney that has good but cheaper stuff.
I went basic black pants with a plain t shirt/modest top or collared shirt/blouse under a nice cardigan or blazer. Usually from Target or op shop. They might be safe choices until you get in and can take cues from the other women there. Or ask about their dress code
Not sure if you are eligible, but there is Ready Set and Fitted for Work as possibilities
Shein and Kmart in all honesty. I like clothes, but am a bigger gal so struggle to find nice clothes that aren’t black oversized tops. So I’ve been using Kmart for bottoms, they have different cuts of black work pants. Shein have some okay stuff, I’m fine with non natural fibres because it means I can iron less!
The Vinnies on Auburn Rd if you live anywhere near it.
Price has less to do with looking professional than fit does. Something that fits you well will always look sharp, and ill fitting items will look sloppy. Plain black or navy pants and a neat top, or dress (no overly loud prints), and a blazer will be good for nearly any interview. Go to the shops so you can try on different styles to find what works for you. Make sure it’s clean and unwrinkled when wearing for the interview. Lots to be found in op shops or target.
Definitely not me running around the house listening to downpipes in the rain at 5am. Nope no one is that weird… uhh
THEY ALL WORK NOW! And no weird gurgling noises, tank being fed nicely. I DID IT (although I’m not quite sure what I did).
Awww yissss
Fuck yeah man!
I was hoping to get on the analogue bike this weekend but it didn’t happen. This has just been a weekend of feeling tired and sleeping at odd times as a result, just throwing me out completely
That’s why i took off to friday. Easter long weekend? Nothing counts, fuckit. Tuesday-friday i worry about holiday tasks.
Anyone else have a particularly shit sleep?
Daylight savings ending has messed me up lol
just the normal shit sleep, nothing unusual
A bit on the wet side today. Mr Woof did get to rock his flouro yellow raincoat on our walk, not that anyone was out to see hin anyway.
Driving down to Melbourne without all the traffic was pretty nice, cut about 40 minutes off the trip. Plus all the clouds meant I didn’t have the usual problem of the sun straight into my eyes, so I’m counting it a pretty good day.
without all the traffic
oh noez heading back to melbs today probably means the vline will be packed.
all trains have been packed because public transport free
and beach ,
the ILaws are coming later today so I need this walk first 😊
ugh, ptsd means I cry too easily when there is too much happy
it’s just mr seagoon being awesome again that makes me 🥹🥹🥹
I happy cry way more than sad cry. Fact I happy cry more on behalf of someone else than I do for myself.
I’m glad Mr Seagoon makes you happy 😊 ❤️🫂
just him being him makes me happiest
I’m off to the museum to meet Those Kooky Romans
sounds cool 😊
I’m going to finish reading Mary Beard’s books on Rome then I’ll go check it out. I want the exhibition to feel like a greatest hits tour rather than discovering something new
It very much is a greatest hits kind of thing, though quite a well done example
Lindsey Davis’ books about her Roman detective Falco are a good way to get across the late empire without tears. Poseidon’s Gold is a good place to start. Also Venus in Copper and The Iron Hand of Mars.
Those Kooky Romans were quite enjoyable
so many pelicans at the beach today, they have a funny call too

I’m being a massive stresshead and it just won’t stop. Wishing I could just have a drink (or a few) to manually shut my brain off. Green is also off the table.
Sorry second thought. Although I fought it every time, SSRIs helped (and still do help) me immensely as an adult
Antidepressants have never worked for me (treatment resistant and bad reactions) but I’m getting desperate enough for another go.
it just won’t stop.
what do you think would make it stop
I don’t know. I’m trying to sort out as much as I can
Tense every muscle in your body. All at once. Hard as you fucking can. Clench those fists. Pucker that anus! Until they shake. Hold for 15-30 seconds. Release
I like audiobooks and podcasts when I need to replace my brain noise with something else. Currently listening to The Universe series on Crash Course podcasts. https://pca.st/podcast/a68a1cc0-d98e-013c-8c70-0288c31939f3
Anything by Hank and John Green is great for accessible science and topics that are not airy fairy but always hopeful. A bit out there but Stories of the Mahabharata is a family friendly telling of the great Indian mythic tale https://pca.st/podcast/2798d470-fcb5-0131-9d86-5f4c86fd3263
I also finished the full set of Discworld audiobooks but that’s not accessible unless you have audible or similar subscription. Rumination is the thing that gets me but this helps because I can sleep or move at the same time as opposed to doomscrolling
Diazepam (Valium) for grief/panic/anxiety?
Good idea, might not want to rely on it too heavily though
Movies I watched this weekend
Wuthering Heights 2/5
God this movie dragged. The last 30 or so minutes were good but it didn’t make up for the snoozefest middle. Style over substance.
Project Hail Mary 4.5/5
Went into this blind knowing nothing about the story. Not sure I would have watched if not for the DT praise but so glad I did. Absolutely loved it. I laughed, I shed a tear, I was on the edge of my seat, it had it all.
