Lmao, is this what people look at as success? If so y’all can leave me to my failure of a life. I’m much happier doing my thing than trying to impress others.

I think if you’re creative, you can come up with a similar CV for yourself.

    I, for one:

    • have won a mini golf tournament at age 12
    • received an award for my achievements in school
    • wrote and recorded several songs

(Don’t ask for details please but these are all true, technically)

With the right parents added, I would have also achieved:

    • buy a luxury house

I googled it and this is actually a crazy rabbithole to dive into.

No one really knows 100% for sure who this girl is or where she came from and everything is just guessing and whatever is actually in press releases. A lot of people seems to think her dad owns a restaurant, this seems to be very controversial for some reason. It does sound like the secrecy is pretty common in the industry though.

Quick Wikipedia search only revealed that she grew up in a neighborhood in Seoul known for its “affluent inhabitants” hope that helps.

Also, note how none of the listed achievements have any social notion to them. No supporting people in need. No protesting war. Singing a K-pop song and buying a house. Congratulations

Espescially since all her achievements can be done by spending money in the right places. I don’t want to degrade her achievements but they are clearly not selfmade nor achievable by the less fourtunate 80%, 99% if you are not as beautiful as her.

“Sojang was an infamous YouTube channel known for spreading false rumors and pumping out malicious content about various K-Pop idols, creating harmful hearsay that often led to huge controversies. Wonyoung and her agency, Starship Entertainment, sued Park, the YouTuber behind the channel, and won the lawsuit partially in January 2024. The court ordered the YouTuber to pay ₩100 million KRW (about $75,100 USD) to the idol in damages.

It was a landmark ruling for K-Pop fandoms since Sojang had harmed many idols before, but none of the entertainment agencies could seem to do anything about it.”
