That was the advice I got when I went to Europe.
Learn how to say four things “Hello”, “Do you speak English?”, “Sorry” and “Thank you” and most people will do their best to work with you.

Its very much the same as standup comedy. Its 100% you.
If people dont watch its because YOU arent entertaining enough, YOU arent likeable enough, YOU arent putting in enough effort and energy, YOU dont bring anything new to the table, YOU dont take enough risks… Theres no team, theres no band, theres no coworkers, its all on you. Thats a lot to hang your entire livelihood on.
I could only do streaming or a YT if I had “never work again” money because without the pressure I probably could be fun and entertaining the whole time.
My wife has warned her friends “Never refer to my husband looking after his kids as “babysitting” unless you want a snarky, probably very rude response.”
I think Ricky has a problem in that some people go to his shows expecting a sterility of humor you find on tv and get proper standup. You almost never hear outrage about Jeselnik because his entire repertoire is “I’m saying the wildest shit I can think of and thats what you’re here for”
I have mixed feelings about Dave Chappelle because I genuinely believe in inclusivity which unfortunately includes having jokes made about you (which some communities do not appreciate) but he just did too much and it crossed a line into feeling like bullying behavior so I dont fuck with him at all anymore.
He has always been a FAR better writer than a performer.
But thats just it and what most professional comedians are talking about. They dont want you to be genuinely offended or upset, but if you go to a comedy show or watch a 60 minute special. You laugh at 55 minutes but get offended at the 5 that are about a topic YOU are sensitive about, that 5 minutes wasnt all of a sudden serious statements meant to be taken seriously. It was all jokes. They dont owe anyone an apology because that person didnt like parts of their work. They KNOW that not everything is going to land for everyone. If 90% of the audience are laughing, you are killing it.

The sad thing is how good some of those family cars that were so god damn pedestrian 20 years ago are now.
I drove one of the v6 Camrys with the 8 speed… 300hp and half a second faster over the quarter than the gt86… Sure its not manual.and isnt rwd but for a daily… it fucking slapped. “iT cAnT dRiFt” yeah I’m a 40yo man with two kids seats in the back, I’m not trying to tackle Mt Akina.

Why arent people buying more cars from the 70s?
Parts and servicing is a big problem now. A lot of shops wont touch anything they cant plug a diagnostic computer into.
Some parts are made of unobtanium and require complex workarounds or paying through the nose for parts.

I think thats partly because of the 80s and 90s when unibody manufacturing became very commonplace but powered everything and tons of tech wasnt commonplace yet.
People just assume cars kept getting lighter.
The guy was a flog, the killdozer was cool. Same as those 2 guys who made armored suits and robbed the bank leading to a 45 minute shootout in LA. Assholes sure, but ok… pretty epic at the same time.

“I’M GONNA JUMP!!!”
“Go for distance! Make sure you land on public property!”

I dont hate cops, I hate that they dont live up to the image they want us to believe and be worthy of the respect that they think they are owed.
Its actually sad that a dystopian facist parody such as Judge Dredd is actually fairer and more just than what we have now.
Ive defended the dude before, and before I do let me make it clear I think his personality is “Annoying egomaniac hypebeast douche” but I do respect his hustle from a business perspective.
He is actually a really good producer and I dont mean in terms of actually mixing and producing the music himself, he is more like a movie producer, he has connections, money and a good ear for talent. He buys a beat, calls some people he thinks would be good for the track or would be good on a track together, pays them to do their verses, pays someone to mix it into a complete track and puts it out. The man was Mr Miami when Miami was blowing up, Pitbull was still “Mr 305”, he made flashy obnoxious mainstream rap when everyone was wearing Ed Hardy jeans and Marc Ecko watches… right place, right time and he shot his shot.
I mean the man was the child of palestinian immigrantsand not cashed up ones and is now worth an estimated 70 million having created his own dream job. Have a look at his award nominations on his wikipedia… he is an enormous tool, but he isnt untalented.
Michael is probably the hardest case of this too.
Its easy not to support, discuss or enable Kevin Spacey because while he was a brilliant actor in a few movies he wasnt irreplaceable. Michael on the other hand was likely one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th century. He was a cultural phenomenon.
A lot of allegations and concerning behaviors absolutely but no convictions and a lot of people who knew him who defend him absolutely. A lot of potential substance abuse or mental health issues but also a lot of financial reasons why people may have alleged things that didnt happen…
Michael is a very grey case.
