Could be worse. At least you’ve got a computer and some sort of building to put it in.

0·2 days agothe dems need to appeal to republican voters
When will this idea die? If anyone is still on the fence about Trump they are a lost cause. I don’t mean that in the internet edgelord sense but a literal one. Stop wasting time on idiots and people happily guzzling propaganda. They will never ever change. Give up on them. They want to physically harm you.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What would happen if the US president declares martial law (not statewide, but entire nation) overnight?
0·2 days agoDem governors would line up to oppose him.
Do you have any reason other than your own expectations to believe this is true? Looking at their response to him so far I don’t think they would do shit. I don’t think I would have said that two years ago but their spinelessness up to this point is pretty shocking.
Walz hasn’t done much of anything about ICE invading Minnesota and Newsom types his Twitter posts like an idiot now. What else have any of them done?

John Fetterman and Krysten Sinema come to mind. Most self described “liberal” politicians, really.

0·3 days agoMaybe. Either way it’s an insane thing for the POTUS to say. The best case scenario is that he’s so full of shit that he makes other insane politicians seem tame by comparison. That’s not a good place for the US or the world to be, to say nothing of any other possible scenarios.

0·4 days agoYou’re welcome to your opinions on the topic but I don’t think you can refute anything I said. Desperate people often get violent and there are a lot of desperate people out there. That’s just the state of the world.

News@lemmy.world•'No Data Centers': Indy councilor's home hit with 13 shots in targeted attack
0·4 days agoYou make good points but when politicians don’t listen to people and those people get desperate they also get violent. If politicians didn’t want to get shot at they shouldn’t have created a world in which that sounds like a good idea to damn near half the population. Actions have consequences and the people in charge have been ignoring problems for a long time. Sooner or later that’s going to bite them in the ass in one way or another.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Has Trump been seen in public in the last 48 hours?
0·4 days agoI don’t. I hope they ship his body to every city in America like they do with ancient Egyptian kings, except instead of learning about history we take turns pissing in his mouth
Run a progressive woman like AOC and if she loses I’ll concede it’s misogyny. Until then I’m putting the blame on the shitty platforms these centrist women keep running on.

News@lemmy.world•Top US army officer steps down after Hegseth reportedly demanded removal
0·8 days agoFor the sake of argument let’s say he did that and intentionally slowed things down as much as possible.
Fast forward four years from now. You’re a DOJ prosecutor under the new administration looking to level charges against high ranking military officers who gave the green light to some of Trump’s war crimes.
How could you tell the Army Chief of Staff did what he could to prevent those crimes? He didn’t resign. He didn’t publicly denounce the actions or refuse to pass the orders down the chain of command (if he did he would have been canned). He didn’t give his story to a journalist or recommend to Congress that Trump be impeached. In the eyes of the law what is the difference between him and the General he relays the President’s orders to, or the soldier who carries them out?
Those people may work in IT but in my experience most datacenter employees are vanilla as hell

No but that wasn’t the goal so why would that matter to Trump?
