I used to have this yellow dress that I loved and I am pretty sure I accidentally donated it like 10 or 15 years ago, but every 6 to 10 months or so I still think about that dress.

Thank you friend for that tip, I am going to look in to this.

A no soliciting sign doesn’t stop solicitors, so I don’t see why a welcome mat should have any more power.

If I got murdered I hope that every single true crime podcast, tv show and youtube tells my story. Please describe me as full of life and deeply caring. Also cut in some stuff about being gone too soon, and don’t mention that I was holed up in my house for months without leaving or speaking to another person before they murdered me.

I was on the BART the other day coming back from SFO and one of those idiots with a giant speaker came on an started swinging from all the bars in some kind of dance I guess? It went on for way too long - almost the whole time between SF and Oakland. Then he had the gall to ask for a tip? Are you out of your GD mind? STFU and get your swinging feet out of my face.

Here is my take - They are adding a new metric called “Engaged Views”, this is the same metric that a “View” was previously, something like - the person stayed after 30 seconds so they are “engaged”. Then they are going to sell ads based on the now inflated view number and use the “Engaged view” metric against creators so they can cut the amount they are paying for monetization.

I am using PHP as a metaphor. Like, even a script kiddie could get up a working PHP site and it doesn’t matter how spaghetti the code is - it will still run.
Even a vibe coded site can be secured, the language doesn’t matter. Shitty sites with terrible security have always and will always exist on the web. AI didn’t start this trend and we should not pretend like web development has been like this for years.

I choose NA beer for that exact reason and its been a really big tool for me to keep my sobriety. It works for some and for others it doesn’t but I am glad its available as an option for me. But had I never started drinking in the first place I would not like beer, so I am not sure why anyone would buy NA beer unless, like me, they are trying to scratch an itch that can’t be scratched like it was before.

Ok, I did the digging on this because you asked. I actually just assumed because I was carded for NA beer that this was a law.
In the US, federally it is not illegal to sell less than 0.5% without carding. But many states treat NA beer the same as normal beer and they require the person be over 21. In the states that do not require 21 and over for NA beer many (most) stores and bars will still card because its better safe than sorry when it comes to ABC and losing your license.
So even tho it might be legal, you are probably still going to get carded, except at this place I guess.
But also I am struggling to understand why someone would choose to drink NA beer if they didn’t already know what real beer was like and was trying to avoid it by getting the NA kind (like me). Like - NA beer costs the same as real beer, just buy literally anything else to drink and its cheaper.

If this store is in the US they are stupid for making this sign and they can get in quite a bit of trouble for this with ABC. NA beer is still 21 and over, its not “beer for kids”

You still have to be 21 to buy NA beer. Even if its 0.0, the stores will get in trouble for not carding.

There have been a number of
vibe codedphp websites that were just sitting open for anyone to look at the personal information, because no one who knew what they were doing was involved.
Re-wrote this for you for 2016.
Just saying, the web has been like this forever. The only thing AI is changing about people building insecure websites with shit code that that they look like someone talked to a designer for 10 seconds before it went up.

I can still see it while not logged in but I assume it is only a matter of time. https://old.lemmy.world/ ftw

I think if I am presented with an are you a robot captcha check box every 10 refreshes on lemmy.world for being on a VPN, that is the least we can do for bots.
I mustache them a question.

oh hell, and its gran to you, youngster.

Oh yes, the bot spam coming from non logged in users is a serious problem, totally get it.
Love that they don’t allow comments on blog posts, because they know its just going to be a bunch of ppl saying fuck spez

I joined reddit during the great digg migration almost a decade ago. Joined Lemmy a few years ago but it wasn’t quite scratching that itch.
Finally made the switch to https://old.lemmy.world/ (and changed my default sort to be “new comments”) while I am at work and I got to say - its working, I feel like I am going back to old reddit when I take my breaks and it was really just the habit and familiarity of the layout that kept me going back there.
I am definitely one of those who makes typos and gets mad about this but - the internet needs to get more pedantic about spelling and grammar mistakes again.
