The environmental cost of all the actors and staff driving to the location is much higher than generating the video, not to mention set cost, fake food and prop costs, etc.

People tripping over the environmental cost of software are rubes. Generating text is about 5 seconds of Netflix streaming but you obviously don’t look at your own energy usage when watching tv, that would break the echo.

Wait till you learn how clothing companies use AI models to present the clothes in the shop. Literally cant go tits up.

I hope this backfires so hard and completely destroys their brand image. We really need to strengthen advertising laws so that, by the time the models can reliably produce visuals that look much better than the real food, it’s illegal and has severe penalties. At least for now this pizza looks wonky as hell.

Having real shitty fat leaking pizza?

At least that was my (luckily) only experience with them…

I always found pizza hut way greasier, like hand covered in oil after I eat a slice.

I do get the pan pizza from Dominos so the crust is much crispier than their normal crust which I don’t think I’ve ever ordered so in that case it might be greasier.

Hmm…I think, I was at pizza hut once and was also disappointed

But I’m leaving very near to Italy and we have many higher quality pizzerias around and mostly no food chains, but just family businesses

          Maybe I’m just spoiled ;-)

Not sure who down voted you, but yeah, it’s nice to have some real Italian restaurants around

Sadly I’m missing a real Mexican restaurant, with which the US probably is probably the better place to be - besides actual Mexico of course ;-)

If you’re ever in Bologna, Piedra del Sol has legitimate Mexican food. Finding a place with freshly made tortillas and proper margaritas was a pleasant surprise.

      • there is yello-orange-y filter on the image
      • the way she holds the mayonaise cup
      • the people skin and clothes look wayy too smoth, just like if i repainted them on photoshop
      • the guy running seem to have only 4 fingers on his right hand
      • the food looks too fake IMO (cmon, even ads that use glue instead of cheese look more real…)

It would be easier to notice if we had the full vid instead of a screenshot

Have you ever seen a pizza with sausage slices that big‽ That was the dead giveaway to me. I mean, every pizza ad makes the cheese and toppings look perfect but those are little sausage towers.

Now I want a pizza like that!

Having said that, I think I’ve figured out what they actually are: Marshmallows 😂

the text on the side of the cardboard.
i would always zoom in small text first and see if something’s up.

also the general vibe of it, even though you obviously cannot be too sure about it. but there are certain things ai likes to add, for example depth of field.

Also consider the logic of how those “breadsticks?” seem to be sliced - they’re cut in strips but also someone cut off 2/3 of a strip from 2 of them and one is sideways. Like a chaotic 4 year old was in charge of slicing.

This is going beyond the “serving suggestion” bullshit that is commonplace in ads. AI food will never look like the real thing, or vice versa, whichever you prefer.

Oh please. AI generated images of food are just as realistic as the food in traditional food advertisements.

We’ve all been looking at pictures of painted plastic since forever. Not only that, but photoshopped, painted plastic 😁

AI that “looks real” should be, in my opinion, clearly labeled as such. A little tag in the corner.

They’ve already gotten away with so much for so long, for example the advertisement burger is a prop that looks much different than an actual burger. All of this is deceitful.

As someone who never sees ads anymore, I would expect everything to be AI now. Is this a surprise? The 70’s had composition and light table trickery, then came air brushing, then came photoshop, and now AI. Seems like a logical progression.

Not seeing ads at all fixes that.

But I said this before: the Advertising company that goes out of its way to make crappy, hand made art that is obviously not AI or even CGI or Photoshop, and makes everything look like it was made with love (real love or fake doesn’t matter) for the sake of the product is going to make a fortune.
