I would think wage slaves, but what does a guy who wants to automate everyone out of a job need wage slaves for?

Comfort slaves. You want to have food and a place to live? Billionaires get to have whatever and do whatever they want and you never complain. What other future could they possibly be gearing towards?

I’m so numb to the threat of a population crash after decades of accepting that I’ll likely die as a direct cause of climate change and/or nuclear annihilation and/or global pandemic and/or cancer from one of the many poisons we’re pumping into our environment. I couldn’t care less about population crash. They do everything they can to ruin the world for everybody but the elite, I’m sure as hell not bringing anybody into it so they can labor for these assholes.

Every time I hear politicians advocating for more children I keep thinking “you want to put even more people on this earth to use up its resources?”

Surely having a few less humans around would be a good thing for the climate.

Hmm. In the biographies it is a least clear that he values spending time with them and has them in mind for many decisions - but definitely in his own way… Like quality time with his newest baby while being on a SpaceX conference call.

And the better question: Do they like him?

I hear you. But a lot of the content of both biographies are based on recounts from other people about him - but still…

Regarding Vivian, Elon has definitely done a really horrible job with her. According to the most recent book, he presumably tried to downside his mansion lifestyle in an effort to gain a bit of her fondness for him back (this was driven by their differences in political views, hers being much more left leaning; not her transgender identity). But obviously it didn’t help one bit. It just goes to show that he will bend for people (including his children) to like him.

I mean no one wants to be hated by the in-crowd. I think him losing progressive clout back when he was with old grimey hit him hard. He spent a fortune in reddit psychophants, cartoon spotlights, TV exposure, and other media to get people the progressives to like him.

It didn’t work, and rather than slinking into background like other billionaires he made an emotional decision to publicly pivot alt-right. I think this really is who he is, but I don’t think he actually likes it. He embraces loudly it because he knows we hate it.

I think deep down all these adults with power who act emotionally just want to be beloved, but cannot accept that their core values make them reviled. I can definitely understand him trying to do right by his kids, in his own warped logic sense

The irony of American white nationalism will always be that that despite being a white American by birth and genetics, even as I fight that privilege, I’ll still be a “better” white American than the world’s richest immigrant can ever be. You picked the wrong allies, you picked the wrong fight, and your ancestors (exploiters as they were) picked the wrong continent. You’ll never be “good” enough. And while I despise that standard, your failure to figure that out and your personal collapse is a small delight.

LOL that’s what my wife said, with full sincerity, she said he might have been born deformed due to the shape of his torso. I don’t think so. People who have that kind of deformity tend to get only the amount of surgeries necessary, only a guy who was insecure about his perfectly normal penis would get like 80 surgeries to make it bigger. Just my two cents

You’re getting hammered pretty hard on the votes, but you are generally correct. I would not advise you try calling a Black person “coloured” in 2026. POC, or just flat out Black, is the more accepted term today. The point of POC is that it emphasizes the personhood over the colour aspect.

Larry was helping a black family who also ironically had the last name “Black” and they were staying at his house until they found another place to live.

During that time he couldn’t invite his date over because there was zero privacy with so many people.

The doctor had similar issue as her family was also staying over at her place.

I’ve always thought either were silly - it implies that ‘white’ isn’t a color. Even if you say ‘white is the absence of color’ that itself is a color.

‘hey Bill, what did you paint your fence as’ ‘I painted it not a color’ ‘ah, quite basic, no?’

The absence of colour is not a colour.

That said, white people are generally actually various shades of pinky beige, black people are generally various shades of brown, but our language uses colour-based terminology to refer to ethnicity anyway.

Complaining that white is a colour, so whites should be included as coloured people, is kind of silly in that context.

Especially if you remember that the term “coloured people” originated as a way to stop people who had black and white heritage from getting any of the benefits of their whiteness.

It’s not ‘I want to be included too’ but like, the entire thing is silly. We are all some shade of a color. To single out a group and call them ‘colored’ when we literally all are is just, wat.

I mean it’s not like the people who were at the helm of racism were particularly intelligent, but like come on. It’s almost comical how smooth-brained they were (are). If I pulled out a pack of crayons and pointed to the white one, their worldview may implode.

      Hmm… I think it’s for a different reason.

Birthrates are down because (amongst other things) it’s financially impossible to have a family in this time.

However, as much as these tech billionaires invest into AI, they still need grunt workers to keep society running. So eventually these billionaires will lose value because society doesn’t have workers.

Billionaires can’t look 20 years into the future when the babies would grow up to be workers. If they could, they’d see that destroying the environment is going to cost way more in the future than it would to just fuck it less now.
