Wrong community, this should be in c/lemmyshitterpost
Thats a peanits

Looks like a job for Dickbutt.
Lemmy comments support markdown, so if you paste the link inside brackets like this:
It shows up as the actual GIF, like this:

I guess it’s just my instance, but your post doesn’t show an inline image to me.
That’s weird. What kind of frontend are you using?
Firefox.
I think the instance (infosec.pub) re-wrote the URL, but either did it wrong, or didn’t also successfully mirror the image.
Looks like infosec.pub is also hosting the default lemmy frontend. I’m asking because there are alternative lemmy frontends, like Alexandrite.
But yeah it seems infosec.pub also uses some kind of image proxy. When I call the URL you commented, it gives me an error about validation, so maybe that is broken somehow
If Kohler doesn’t have this as an option, they should.
I initially thought that was a picture, then realized they were flush buttons. Excellent design, 10/10, no notes

AI can’t see the problem with it
Press button for penis in ass

you lied to me
Why’s the TP holder pointing up?
Also, is the TP just kinda floating there a little?
Obviously there’s a flared base
fun
Big potato hypothesis this is in space
Solving the over/under debate
Been doing exactly this for years because my cats like to unroll it.
So… Left or Right?
Widdershins, obviously.
Don’t like the assthetics?
Because AI confused a toilet roll holder with a wall mounted lamp and gave us something in-between.
Must be cat owners.
A cat could easily pull it off a sideways roll.
I’m on vacation in Switzerland right now and I’ve seen this in a bunch of people’s home bathrooms.
Maybe because you’re less likely to accidentally whack the roll and knock it to the floor? 🤷♂️
You saw a bunch of people’s home bathrooms while on vacation?
Most of them were relatives we stayed with.
There were only like, maybe 7 occasions where I broke into a random home to inspect the toilet.
Related to why I’m not allowed back into Belgium ever again.
Does it unravel a little and brush against things?
It actually doesn’t. They have this absurdly high quality toilet paper that’s about 1.5x longer than the squares I always see in Canada, and it’s got to be like quilted 3 ply. It unrolls reluctantly and I swear I hear an angel chorus every time I pull a sheet.
Interesting. I usually go for the charmin strong, but even it, when I place it on my toilet paper holder which holds 5 rolls vertically like that. If the first glued on roll comes loose it’ll unravel annoyingly.
Bro I have been to Europe once in my life and one of the few things my shattered psyche committed to long term memory was the multi-ply toilet paper. Like, the middle layer was a different material from the outer layers. These mfs have bidets AND good tp dude we live in the stone age on this side of the pond
It sure is hung alright
Well-hung
Never seen competitive shitter? At least there’s no carpet
That wood floor is going to be gross in a few years.
It’s tile
Looks like a pretty typical European toilet? What’s the problem?
The large flush button looks like it got clipped on the left but that could be a weird artistic decision.
I hate european toilets for this reason. If I cannot access the cistern due to a plumbing problem and have to literally rip apart panelling to diagnose any issue, then this toilet is anti-consumer
You can access and replace the entire internal mechanism through the hole the wall plate for the flush buttons is mounted on.

I just had a look because I have never had to service a toilet like this. The water shutoff appears to be easily accessible. As for any further work, an exposed tank is surely easier to deal with when a toilet misbehaves.
You can service and repair every part through the opening. It’s a bit tight, but doable.
No, you cannot service the joint between the tank and the bowl. And because it is hidden, it could leak for decades creating mold without anyone knowing until people get sick from black mold.
The flush button can be pushed upwards and taken off. Everything else is accessible from there.
No need to apologize. Even access through that panel is ridiculous. Those panels are 20x40cm max. Working at 90 degrees through a small opening is unnecessarily hard. And major repairs, which will be once every 30 years or so will require ripping the wall open.
It only makes sense for commercial installs where Hotels go through complete renovations every 10 years and and an extra .5 meter clearance is critical because the bathrooms are tiny in downtown European cities.
Maybe there’s a closet for it rather than it just being in the wall?
Yes, but where – in a different room or an outside panel even.
Imagine needing to check the cistern and flush it - you have to run into the bathroom and out of it constantly to check
It’s right there behind the buttons. The whole button panel comes off, and leaves a hole in front of the mechanism.
The flush button looks like a penis.
Tap the tip for pee and the shaft for poo.
I thought pee was stored in the balls not the tip?
Oh, then I don’t know. I’m not a doctor 🤷
Poo is definitely stored in the shaft though
You mean you don’t have a full-length window to peer down on the peasants as you take your morning constitutional on your wall-mounted designer toilet?
no bidet?? farce of a luxury vibe.
Huh I thought we were laughing at the dick button but apparently people are confused by wall mounted toilets? 😅
I hate it. it must have absolutely massive wall support
It’s funny I’ve lived with these all my life without even considering it 😅 Even public bathrooms which have to accommodate all kinds of people and ungodly usage scenarios commonly have those here. I’ve never heard stories of it being a problem ever.
However, these are usually mounted in solid brick or concrete walls, so that’s probably why it works here
Would not work for the average American
This joke is so underweighted
I wouldn’t trust whatever is holding it to the wall long term.
Why? Most commercial toilets are wall mounted and get shat in way more than consumer plinth toilets.
Because, on Lemmy, trust, optimism, and most expressions of positive thinking are seen as weakness, ignorance, or both.
As a disabled dude who sits down on the shitter with the force of a kid literally jumping into bed, I give this toilet 2 visits with my ass before it tears off the wall.
I have a setup kind of like this and it’s rated for 200 kilos
There’s a whole structure inside the wall that secures the bowl
Most consumer toilets are attached to concrete or cinder block walls but home walls are usually wood and drywall.
Not outside of the US they’re not.
What’s a stud?
Well yeah if u are an US-American maybe lol. Everyone else will be fine lol
You are just obsessed with America aren’t you! Come visit!
I’d actually like to, but as long as Trump is president I believe it would be safer to travel to North Korea and insult Kim-Jong Un publicly lol
As I’m currently building myself a house I can tell you that the wall mounted toilets are rated for 400kg at the tip,the furthermost from the wall, of the bowl.
OK. It just seems like unnecessary engineering for the small advantage of being easier to clean under.
*necrssary engineering. Love those!
It’s really just a steel frame that gets bolted to the wall. Further down someone linked to one from Geberit, cost like 120€. It also has the water tank.
Easier cleaning is one thing and the best feature if you don’t care about the ecstatics. You can also chose the height freely.
400kg
That’s only 3 USAians if they are static.
Get 250kg (combined) humping reverse cowgirl and see what forces you get.
Not to kinkshame, but… sex literally on the toilet? 🤢
Why not? Wall mounted toilets like this are super common here in Europe and there’s never an issue. The big advantage is that you can more easily clean underneath them.
What you don’t see is that the toilet isn’t actually held up by the wall itself. There’s a steel frame inside the wall linke this.
