My grocery store partners with a local vendor and you can use grocery points to discount the gas price. Giant Eagle and Getgo. I’m pretty sure there are chains in every state/city that run discounted fuel reward programs

TN here - They don’t have garbage cans or squeegees / window cleaners. The crap they sell is overpriced swill. The bathrooms are very clean. Food is fair and overpriced. I’d rather go to a Loves any day.
Basically yeah. They’re impressive because they have big clean bathrooms and lots of gas pumps, that’s it. They have occasionally save my butt and having to buy a last-minute Christmas gift for my brother-in-law, but other than that everything is garbage. Expensive garbage.

I remember when Buc-ees came to my state and everyone went “Hell, yeah, I’ll work at a gas station for $22/hr!” Pretty soon, word got around that you’re not even supposed to sit on your breaks. The people enthusiastically screaming “Fresh brisket on the board!!” Rapidly gave way to a tone that said “I am contractually obligated to say ‘Fresh brisket on the board’ at an at least mildly elevated volume.”
Still, I’m surprised by this story. The pay made a hell of a first impression, and the sitting thing made me think some kind of weird religious kink, but overtly political messaging was not something I expected.
